Musings of a Medical Spouse

Musings of a Medical Spouse. Monday, February 15, 2010. Many people don't realize that medical school is only traditional schooling the first two years of it. The third and fourth years consist of doing rotations (or small internships in the main areas of medicine) and flying all over the country to interview for residencies. Musings of a Medical Spouse: How did I get here?

http://musingsofamedicalspouse.blogspot.com/2009/09/how-did-i-get-here.html

Musings of a Medical Spouse. Wednesday, September 16, 2009. How did I get here? When I met my husband, A, my sophomore year of college I had no idea I would go on so many adventures, be introduced to so many things, or end up a doctor's wife. Heck, I thought I. Was going to be the doctor! Although not a doctor of medicine, this still may be realized at some point! Now I know I lucked out to be with someone so passionate about helping people, learning about the human body, and being intelligent enough to ...

Musings of a Medical Spouse: Budget time!

http://musingsofamedicalspouse.blogspot.com/2010/01/budget-time.html

Musings of a Medical Spouse. Thursday, January 28, 2010. So I haven't really been able to post as much as I'd like (a.k.a. never) since my job decided to go from the most boring and slow job ever to the most boring and never-have-any-time job. But hey, better than no job right? Probably the most crazy thing we did was set up individual fun money and joint money budget line items. I get a whole $50 to spend a month on myself! We fixed this situation by keeping our budget on the front door. If I buy gr...

Musings of a Medical Spouse: Applying = Good Practice

http://musingsofamedicalspouse.blogspot.com/2009/10/applying-good-practice.html

Musings of a Medical Spouse. Monday, October 26, 2009. Applying = Good Practice. When A began the process of getting into medical school (I'll begin with studying for the MCATs since I wasn't around in high school) it gave a glimpse into our future. He had tons of late nights studying, essay upon essay to write, long months apart, and less and less money due to applications and interviews. Pretty much how we live now or will in the near future :). 3 Medical school is really, really expensive. Not onl...

Thursday, February 11, 2010. Black and Gold, Superbowl! Lately, life has been total insanity to say the least. DH is still in Atlanta at the Kaplan course studying for Step 1. We just won the Superbowl! For now, I am basking in the glory of the Saints' Superbowl win! I was lucky enough to watch the game and hang out on Bourbon Street that night with my friends! After the win, we ran out onto Bourbon Street. Everyone was yelling "Who Dat," hugging, and high-fiving! Our city is back! Lives of Doctor Wives.

http://www.peeptoesandpearls.com/2009_12_01_archive.html

Wednesday, December 30, 2009. I am finally legally a Mrs. We came out of the cabin after the drizzle was over to admire eachother, the sunset, and celebrate with more champagne. The catamaran landed on Grand Anse Beach. And, we ended our day hand in hand walking down the beach under the stars! I will remember that day forever! So, even though we planned our New Orleans wedding for April 17, 2010 (after Step 1).we found it fitting to also get married in Grenada too! Wednesday, December 23, 2009. On anothe...

Wednesday, December 23, 2009. Christmas is soon aproaching. Of course, there are also the larger celebrations that are had with our extended families. Somehow, over the years we have managed to delegate time with each family. We are very lucky to be from the same place and that all of our family is also here too. This definitely makes things much easier for us to see everyone for holidays. I hope that all of you have a very Merry Christmas and the Happiest New Year! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
