Musings on the A.: January 2012

http://www.musingsonthea.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html

Musings on the A. Thoughts as I ride the A train. Tuesday, January 31, 2012. It's difficult to construct a coherent piece when attempting to be discreet about the very subject I wish to discuss. This is a relatively public forum, even if it is visited by a microscopic portion of the public. Relatively speaking, this being my little corner of the internet, I should be able to say whatever I damn well please! Ahem I'll be brief, if vague. To paraphrase from Hemingway's The Sun Also Rises. This word has bee...

Musings on the A. Thoughts as I ride the A train. Thursday, April 14, 2011. In this week's edition of New York Magazine. There's a feature about the recent happenings on Wall Street and it's major players. New York. The article discusses Lynn Tilton,"founder and CEO of Patriarch Partners, a private-equity firm that specializes in the takeover of distressed manufacturers of a decidedly masculine nature." Perhaps I had never noticed before, but in the two years I've subscribed to New York Magazine. The art...

Musings on the A.: Reevaluate.

http://www.musingsonthea.blogspot.com/2012/01/reevaluate.html

Musings on the A. Thoughts as I ride the A train. Wednesday, January 11, 2012. Those resolutions were utter failures. I do not plan on making those mistakes again. Sometimes one cannot dismiss the trivial minutiae of the everyday. So what if I spend time on something seemingly unnecessary? This time around, I do not have resolutions. Instead, I have to reevaluate. What's working? What's bogging me down? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). A little more about me. View my complete profile.

life, as christian sees it: Glass Anniversary

http://christianabell.blogspot.com/2011/01/glass-anniversary.html

Life, as christian sees it. Sunday, January 23, 2011. We recently took the kids for the day to The Corning Museum of Glass. It was actually our 11 th. Wedding anniversary. (No sitter available so we decided to have a fun day vs a romantic day as a 5 and 6 year old tend to put a damper on romance.) In December I had bought a family pass to NY's. What was great about this place is we got exhausted before we got bored. Spent about 5 hours there. Lots and lots of demonstrations. We will be going back for sure.

life, as christian sees it: June 2010

http://christianabell.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html

Life, as christian sees it. Thursday, June 24, 2010. A few Sunday's ago my son decided to make about 30 poor choices in a row and thus found himself (kicking and screaming) relocating our wood pile. Calmly (outwardly, not inwardly of course) I replied "Fine. Two it is." Next he got up next to my ear and quietly but forcefully starts repeating "A-pol-o- gize. No problem" was my response. We got inside and he went to turn on the TV. "No way mister" I said "You're not watching TV at all today and rememb...

Life, as christian sees it. Thursday, October 22, 2009. Yes, I'm Insane. I only blog now, like, monthly. Maybe that's good. I don't know. I'm just so busy with work, the rec center, kids, and school. She said the whole class will be sitting on the carpet and he'll be standing still in another part of the room. She's say "Malachi what'cha. Elise is good. In preschool and girly. Ah yes. http://christianabell.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html

Life, as christian sees it. Monday, March 29, 2010. Malachi turned 6 in January and two days later I turned 29. He had a great Transformers party that my husband planned and executed perfectly. Check out this short clip:. His poor little buddy Wyatt had a belly ache by the end of the festivities. This is one of Wyatt's little sisters and she's so darn cute I had to post her picture :) Look at those eyes! For my birthday all I really wanted was a quiet day. First Mal made me breakfast:. 1/16 - Lost only 1...

http://christianabell.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html

Life, as christian sees it. Sunday, December 26, 2010. Not doing so good" phase. Intro to the actual post:. With the tone in his voice that wasn't small talk, it was "how is your heart doing? And I lied and said "fine". (Sorry babe - of course I'm pretty sure you knew it was a lie). Well, sleepless nights (like tonight), racing thoughts, and inappropriate guilt say other wise. So "da-da-da-daaaa" (that was trumpet sounding): I am not doing well. There, I said it. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). 1/23 - So thi...

Life, as christian sees it. Thursday, July 29, 2010. Realized I never posted pictures of our new camper. We love it and can't wait to get it registered and on the road! Folds down into a twin - Malachi's bed. Our bed - a full (Elise will be on a camp cot on the floor). Our cute little bathroom with tub. Monday, July 26, 2010. We're all amped up! But at any rate I'll share:. I find myself many days agitated. Not over something in particular just agitated, rubbed wrong, pissed off. Part of this discovery c...

Life, as christian sees it. Wednesday, April 28, 2010. Gold Teeth and Johnny Cash. While searching for waterfront property to buy about a month back I found this sandy beach state park called Fair Haven State Park just two hours away on Lake Ontario. Rob and I decided that at the end of April we would go for a long weekend. We left this last Sunday after church and stayed two nights in one of their rustic cabins. This was the view from our front door. Beautiful and calm. Sunsets there were beautiful.

life, as christian sees it: August 2010

http://christianabell.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html

Life, as christian sees it. Saturday, August 21, 2010. Same thing here. I'm always telling myself that I have to work a "normal" job. Until" and as you guessed it the "until" never really arrives. If I could (at least at this point in my life) do what really sets my heart on fire it'd be a jumbled mess of the following: creating/selling sewing projects of all sorts, guitar/singing for pay, writing articles and books, and having a farmette. One bite at a time." So elephants, beware. Friday, August 13, 2010.

http://christianabell.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html

Life, as christian sees it. Monday, February 8, 2010. The Painted Desert and My Baby. Last February I was feeling the Winter Blahs and made my husband promise that for our coming 10 th. Wedding anniversary in December he'd take me far away to somewhere warm where I could stare at something pretty and drink coffee. Later that month we booked our flight to Sedona. So fast forward to December 27 th. When we leave and land to this beautiful sight (among so many others). Through the Painted Dessert. The first...

Musings On SOA

Sunday, February 24, 2008. Got Money, Will Buy Sophistication. Globalization has brought many disruptive changes. The Internet and ease of communication have made it easy for companies to stretch far beyond their traditional boundaries. As a result, companies are opting for inorganic growth by M&A –- not just in their neighborhood, but all over the world. On a side note, I recently read that fuel costs have doubled for the airlines in the last year. The growth patterns between developing and developed ec...

Musings on Social Software. Friday, August 10, 2007. Well, this post symbolizes my last official act as a student at library school. It's been a lovely semester, and I wish you all the best as you continue through library school or experience new beginnings. Thursday, August 2, 2007. While some areas I was familiar with (blogs, wikis) and some were new or close to it (social bookmarking, RSS), I feel like I gained insight in all areas, particularly in library application. Musings on the Divine. Thursday, December 22, 2016. The Return of the Light. Midwinter Festival of Light. The Wheel of the Year has turned once again and we find ourselves at the Midwinter Festival of Light, one which has been celebrated in many mythologies and under many names for eons. Tuesday, April 28, 2009. Doctor-patient confidentiality and privilege have a long history. The concept of keeping private the information a doctor may gain from a patient is stated in the Hippocratic Oath. That all physicians take and in the fifth of his Laws. It also has a long history in Common Law. However, despite how second nature this concept may be, there is no federal regulation regarding doctor-patient confidentiality or privilege. They would need to be content-neutral, be an action of wrongful ...
