In my brain actually. My very own brain tumour. Tuesday, April 29, 2008. Monday, April 21, 2008. I hate having convultions / fits / seizures. Yesterday (Sunday) Joan and I went to Kirstenbosch and slowly walked the Braille Trail. This is a tiny little walk with a little uphill section. We loved it and I found it exciting to be back on uneven, slightly rocky ground for about 20 minutes. It gave me hope that I could eventually get back to normality some time. Coping: up and down. http://mybraintumour.blogspot.com/2008/09/last-post.html

In my brain actually. My very own brain tumour. Thursday, September 11, 2008. Dear Friends out there who have been keeping track of John's blog,. It is with great sadness and a very heavy heart, but also with relief, that I am writing this last post on the blog. Yesterday just before noon, John died peacefully at home. He left this world as he wished - he just drifted into a sleep and faded away quietly, without a fuss. Life-long love affair with them in our early teens. Behind the reserve and formality ...

Many years ago when my children were tiny, I found that I was able to play tunes by turning the garden tap on and off in a controlled manner. Having played Frere Jacques on the tap, I went into the house and found my young son standing outside the toilet with eyes the size of saucers, saying, “Dad, guess what?

On my mind

In my brain actually. My very own brain tumour. Tuesday, February 5, 2008. My beliefs - some of them anyway. Since hearing the news of my brain tumour, many people have asked me questions such as:. Are you OK with God? Can we pray for you? It often helps to write things down. What on earth does this have to do with beliefs? Where do these beliefs come from? I think that one can use three main approaches to trying to understand how things work and how one relates to the world and the universe. One way...

Monday, December 08, 2014. Lets wrap up the C Diff story now. I mean, who wants to talk about shit all the time anyway! I suppose some people will be reading this feeling disgraced that I have wasted £1300 of NHS money. And yes, I can see your point. But how was I to know I would get better all of a sudden? I am just bloody pleased that I did! That couple of months were pretty rubbish and I would not wish that illness on my worst enemy. Thank God for Specialist Nurses. Sunday, December 07, 2014. Pixie dust, glitter, and sequins. Monday, February 18, 2013. You know those old family dogs, big, gentle, comforting? My friend responded, "Gina, I mean this with love, because you know I love you, but you're the weirdest friend I have.". That struck me funny, becauses in my mind, I'm way more "grounded" and "real" than most of her friends. Then I thought, THAT is what must make me weird! So, weird it is! And weird I am!
