mydots — Maple Syrup Can
http://mydots.com/post/122931825676/maple-syrup-can
Ldquo;Everything starts from a dot.”. I never saw maple syrup sold in a can like this. This can probably dates from around 2010, although the artwork evokes an earlier style of packaging. Jul 1st, 2015.
mydots — Coke Bottle
http://mydots.com/post/122754801542/coke-bottle
Ldquo;Everything starts from a dot.”. An American icon. This one was hidden inside a wall for decades. It turned 50 this summer. Jun 29th, 2015.

Ldquo;Everything starts from a dot.”. This small folding can opener was first used by the military in 1942 and was retired in the 1980s. It was used to open “C-rations” which were subsequently replaced by MREs, eliminating the need for this highly-reliable and very compact device. It folds flat and measures about 1-½ inches (38mm) in length. Jul 4th, 2015.

Ldquo;Everything starts from a dot.”. Kodak must have had hundreds of trade names assigned to products that began with the letters “K-O-D-A,” and this package illustrates a couple. The Kodapak system was branding for film that came pre-packaged in cartridges that were designed to fit into the Instamatic camera line. Inside the package was the traditional foil-sealed pouch and a set of instructions. The pouch held the cartridge. This one had film for 12 exposures of Kodacolor (print) film. Jul 3rd, 2015.

Minka Cooks: Apple Sauce
http://minkacooks.blogspot.com/2012/12/apple-sauce.html
My father had a Jonathan apple tree in the backyard. See below.) I remember sitting outside with my dad peeling apples with the juice running down our arms and the flies buzzing around. We would try to peel it in one continuous strip . . . just to say that we did! We gave away bags and bags of apples. By the time I was in junior high school, I could peel and slice apples blindfolded. I make applesauce different ways. Below for tips on how to vary the texture (and color! Below Float them in water to minim...
Minka Cooks: Spicy Toasted Squash Seeds
http://minkacooks.blogspot.com/2012/11/spicy-toasted-squash-seeds.html
Spicy Toasted Squash Seeds. Toasted squash seeds make a nice snack or a topping for soup or salad. Any variety of winter squash seeds can be used for this recipe. I chose butternut squash. One large butternut squash has about ½ cup seeds. Winter squash seeds (I used butternut squash seeds). Salt-free Creole spice or cayenne (optional). Wash seeds in a colander. Remove all strings and squash flesh. Toss seeds with olive oil. Add the salt-free Creole spice or plain cayenne to taste. Green Noodles with Peas.
Minka Cooks: Fish Chowder
http://minkacooks.blogspot.com/2014/10/fish-chowder.html
Fish chowder is a simple New England dish - a cross between a soup and a stew. 1 large onion, chopped. 2-3 celery stalks, chopped. 1 tablespoons vegetable oil. 1 stalk fresh dill, chopped or 1/2 teaspoon dried dill (optional). 2 large potatoes, peeled and coarsely chopped. Pounds boned fish fillets (scrod, cod, or other white-fleshed fish) with skin. 2 cups skim milk. In a soup pot, heat the oil over medium heat. Add 1 cup water. Cook a few minutes until the water thickens. Add salt and pepper. Sunday, O...
Minka Cooks: Cucumber Salad
http://minkacooks.blogspot.com/2013/08/cucumber-salad.html
This recipe comes from The Art of Jewish Cooking. My mom used to make this salad most every summer. Momma often served it with fried fish. I believe she used white vinegar, so I wonder if she used a similar recipe from another cookbook. I changed a few things: switched the pepper to cayenne, and left out the scallions. The vinegar seems too strong to me; I might increase the water from 2 tablespoons to 3 next time. I used salad cucumbers, which were not. 3 cucumbers (I used 6 small cukes). When the cukes...
Minka Cooks: DIY Whole Wheat Matzo Meal and Cake Meal
http://minkacooks.blogspot.com/2015/03/whole-wheat-cake-meal-and-matzo-meal.html
DIY Whole Wheat Matzo Meal and Cake Meal. Homemade WW cake meal (left) and WW matzo meal (right). Years ago, I needed just a little more matzo meal for a brownie recipe but I was all out. In desperation, I ground up a matzo in my food processor or maybe it was a blender since I may not have owned a processor back in those days. At any rate, the processor works better for me and I've stopped using a blender. Everything from matzo balls to latkes to cakes and brownies. Works with All My Recipes. 1-1/3 cups...
Minka Cooks: Turkey Mushroom Barley Soup
http://minkacooks.blogspot.com/2012/11/turkey-barley-soup.html
Turkey Mushroom Barley Soup. Turkey soup can be a meal in itself. Start with the Turkey Broth recipe. That includes the carrots, turkey meat, and bay leaves reserved from that recipe. Adjust the amount of potatoes depending on how much stock you have, and how much barley you use. Barley has gluten in it. To make this recipe gluten free, leave out the barley and use rice, wild rice, millet, or quinoa instead. Turkey broth - recipe here. Turkey meat - recipe here. 189; to 1 cup barley. This is my invariabl...
Minka Cooks: Escarole Salad with (Vegan) Italian Sausage
http://minkacooks.blogspot.com/2012/09/escarole-with-vegan-italian-sausage.html
Escarole Salad with (Vegan) Italian Sausage. I know I say it all the time but this recipe is simple and delicious – and. I like to use homemade vinaigrette made with olive oil, balsamic vinegar, garlic,. Mustard, and marjoram (or basil or thyme). This salad tastes great with or without the olives. The Tofurky Italian Sausage is seasoned with basil and sun-dried tomatoes. The nutrient and ingredient info is here. And a photo of the packaging here. 1 cup chopped fresh tomato. 189; teaspoon canola oil.
Minka Cooks: Pumpkin Pudding
http://minkacooks.blogspot.com/2012/12/pumpkin-pudding.html
It's pumpkin pie minus the fuss and calories of the crust! This is an amalgam of several recipes. This recipe calls for a can of pumpkin puree but you can easily substitute yams, sweet potatoes, or some other winter squash. You can use store-bought puree or make your own. 3 eggs, beaten. Cup packed brown sugar. 2 cups skim milk. 15-ounce can of pumpkin purée (or 2 cups homemade puree from one of the following: pumpkin, yam, sweet potato, winter squash). Preheat oven –. See temperature options below.
Minka Cooks: Spicy Maple Walnuts
http://minkacooks.blogspot.com/2014/11/spicy-maple-walnuts.html
Candied nuts are a nice addition to salads. Try them on top of a salad made with greens and beets. They are also great on ice cream or with a piece of fruit or just by themselves. This recipe has no butter and less maple syrup per nut compared with other recipes. Walnut halves make a great presentation but these are so yummy no one will complain it you use chopped nuts. I'm pretty sure this recipe could also be made with pecans or mixed nuts. 189; cup maple syrup. 189; to 1 teaspoon savory (optional).
