Preserve your family stories and pass them on. Monthly Archives: July 2015. A woman’s perspective on war Testament of Youth. Preserve your family stories and pass them on. I have returned home from the trip to Ottawa, happy with all the new things that I discovered. I learned a lot about Harry and his brother Charles, as well as what it takes to do research in primary documents. Some of the records I requested were generically about the 5. Canadian Mounted Rifles, and others turned ou...

Preserve your family stories and pass them on. A visit to the cemetery. Harry Bowen’s grave in Indiana, PA. Harry’s and Jean’s graves, with butterfly bush. Only after we left did I realize that we probably could have gotten vases from the cemetery office they were all identical on the other graves, which would be too coincidental if every family had to bring their own vase. But I ended up being happy that we had focused on a live plant after my mom sent me this great poem about plastic flowers. You are c...
