Long Life: April 2010

Thursday, April 8, 2010. Anything Not Pertaining to Elephants is Irrelephant. I should really be cleaning the kitchen.or the bathrooms.or the living room.or folding the laundry. Last weekend I attended a double baby shower. One of the women was having a boy and the other a girl. Since last week I also had to finish up easter projects I needed something quick to make for a gift. After searching and searching on google for a stuffed animal tutorial I came up with these myself. Here's a rambling story about...

Long Life: May 2010

Thursday, May 27, 2010. Everybody Wants Some (You Want Some Too) Cue The Dancing Hamburgers.Bad Better Off Dead Reference. The theme of this week is: everybody wants a piece! I said this to my friend Nikol on sunday when she asked why I was half an hour late to Sunday School. Walking from the chapel to Sunday School I was stopped 5 times! Still, the housework suffers. This morning I succumbed to the messy house and stopped begging Jonas to pick up the dominoes, and watched. The Jane Austen Book Club.

Long Life: Caroline Camellia
http://longlife85.blogspot.com/2011/07/caroline-camellia.html
Friday, July 1, 2011. So after 36 hours of hard labor -no joke- Thirty.Six.Hours. That's what I get for insisting on a VBAC. I'll be honest and admit that at one point I told the nurse, "screw it, let's just do a c-section." BUT! If it wasn't for him I wouldn't have gotten the VBAC I was hoping for. Anyway.don't I look wonderful? This picture was taken around hour 32 or so. Our tiny girl is here! The nurse's first words upon her arrival were, "wow she has a lot of hair on her lower back! While riding up ...

freezing tomatoes – Old School
https://damselindisdress.wordpress.com/2009/09/01/freezing-tomatoes
The Damsel in Dis Dress. Click here for a bit of sprog. September 1, 2009. By The Damsel in Dis Dress. Guess you can tell what time of year it is here at the Damsel’s cottage, with all the preserving, etc. posts. The end of summer, the harvest season. So what about freezing tomatoes? It’s ridiculously easy. You don’t have to do ANYTHING to the tomatoes except maybe wash them. The Damsel loves this so, so much. Even less time slaving over a hot stove! The other thing that is perfectly wonderful about free...

canning apricots – Old School
https://damselindisdress.wordpress.com/2009/07/29/canning-apricots
The Damsel in Dis Dress. Click here for a bit of sprog. July 29, 2009. By The Damsel in Dis Dress. It is the Damsel’s wish that you know how to preserve food. It’s one of the basic skills of becoming more self-reliant. Canning does require equipment, and the dollars can add up. You might even feel it doesn’t make financial sense. But nearly everything can be bought second-hand (or borrowed, even) and can be used for years. Here’s what you need:. Waterbath canner with rack. Canning jars with rings. Wash t...

Monday, October 3, 2011. Homemade Baby Wipes- The Smart Person's Version -and also some stuff about beets. Hello blog followers. What a relaxing weekend we've had. However relaxing weekends make for busy mondays. What a crazy cluttered house we now have. Caroline refuses to sleep without being held. She's been kind of a teething beast lately. So the housework waits and I guess I'll just have to snuggle her while blogging. What torture. Meanwhile Jonas has books to put him to sleep. Your posts are making ...

Long Life: My Life: Be Jealous.
http://longlife85.blogspot.com/2011/09/my-life-be-jealous.html
Friday, September 30, 2011. My Life: Be Jealous. Like this stabbing pain in my chest just isn't terrifying enough. They were great though. We took Caroline to the hospital with us since she refuses to take any sort of bottle. And that was all I could think about the entire time: Caroline won't take a bottle! What is Greg going to do? Greg, promise me that if I die you'll make your mom retire and watch the kids! I will not have my children raised in daycare! I used to work in daycare! Playing hangman....

Long Life: Doldrums Be Gone
http://longlife85.blogspot.com/2012/03/doldrums-be-gone.html
Monday, March 12, 2012. What ho, gentle reader! We have been crazy busy. Two kids. It is quite different, am I right? Don't let the smile fool you, see the red eyes? It's from the screaming, which is how the wee-est one prefers to spend most of her time. She is quite particular. Ferberizing has grossly improved her mood.and thusly my mood. On a rainy day we made car tracks out of painters tape and built houses and buildings out of every block we own. Twas fun, indeed. There was a week in like.January?
