Israel – Days 1 and 2. July 13, 2007, 2:00 pm. Lewis and I landed in Tel Aviv around noon local time on Thursday morning. We were wisked thru customs as VIPs and did not have to wait on one single line. We soon met our personal driver, URI, who is very nice and extremely knowledgable. The Dead Sea, Ein Gedi, Masada, and Eilat. July 19, 2007, 7:49 pm. Next we drove to Masada, which is an amazing story in itself. Since it was over 100 degrees, we took the new cable car up instead of hiking the snake path. It was amazing what we saw once we got to the plateau. Not only were we able to the 2000 year-old historical structures, but we also saw great views of the desert as well. 1 Comment so far. This is a test. July 20, 2007, 10:32 am. So like I expected, Eilat is a little cheesy. I thought this from my last time here in ’95, but no one listens to me. It has its benefits and we are having a nice time, but I just wanted to point out that I was RIGHT. So now we are in a just as cheesy room with a better view (we overlook both the Israel/ Egypt side, and the beach), and a bigger balcony – which is nice. Then once we get back, we are going to a new tapas restaurant that is supposed to be great. We are in Eilat for ...

Israel – Shabbat. July 14, 2007, 12:36 pm. We finally arrived at a beautiful hotel on the kineret (Sea of Galillee), late Friday afternoon. July 20, 2007, 10:32 am. So like I expected, Eilat is a little cheesy. I thought this from my last time here in ’95, but no one listens to me. It has its benefits and we are having a nice time, but I just wanted to point out that I was RIGHT. Saturday night and Sunday. July 15, 2007, 2:34 pm. Last night, after Lewis and I had both had wonderful (and inexpensive) massages, we went to a kosker argentinian restaurant called Decks. It was an outside place right on the Kineret (Sea of Gallilee) and we had wonderful courses of grilled game and meats. Our hotel in Jerusalem is brand new and gorgeous. I have never seen anything like it before! The David Citadel is made of all marble and our room in HUGE with a fantastic bathroom. It is mitzuyan!

We started by going through this new mall they have built, which is actually a long promenade with shops (like Lincoln Road).
