Israel – Days 1 and 2. July 13, 2007, 2:00 pm. Lewis and I landed in Tel Aviv around noon local time on Thursday morning. We were wisked thru customs as VIPs and did not have to wait on one single line. We soon met our personal driver, URI, who is very nice and extremely knowledgable. Lewis becomes a man – FINALLY. July 18, 2007, 11:43 am. We have been very busy in Jerusalem the past few days seeing lots of sights. Monday night we had dinner in the German Quarter at a restaurant called kaffit. It was full of local israelis and we had a nice table outside. He put on tefillin and his tallis and read prayers right in front of the kotel. It was very exciting. Saturday night and Sunday. July 15, 2007, 2:34 pm. Last night, after Lewis and I had both had wonderful (and inexpensive) massages, we went to a kosker argentinian restaurant called Decks. It was an outside place right on the Kineret (Sea of Gallilee) and we had wonderful courses of grilled game and meats. Our hotel in Jerusalem is brand new and gorgeous. I have never seen anything like it before! The David Citadel is made of all marble and our room in HUGE with a fantastic bathroom. It is mitzuyan!

Our first day in Jerusalem. July 16, 2007, 10:15 am. Lewis and I spent our first day in Jerusalem touring the old city. We started by going through this new mall they have built, which is actually a long promenade with shops (like Lincoln Road). July 20, 2007, 10:32 am. So like I expected, Eilat is a little cheesy. I thought this from my last time here in ’95, but no one listens to me. It has its benefits and we are having a nice time, but I just wanted to point out that I was RIGHT. So now we are in a just as cheesy room with a better view (we overlook both the Israel/ Egypt side, and the beach), and a bigger balcony – which is nice.
