Sew far from home: August 2011
http://sewfarfromhome.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Sew far from home. Friday, August 5, 2011. I am trying to stay on top of my quilting projects but also expand my horizons with other crafts. I am sure it will help me with the art side of craft. My beading supplies arrived so I was able to try my first lessons. The explanations and diagrams were really clear. I am doing a very dense design in the white parts using Qbot and then a light freehand design in the blue parts. Its going to take a lot of hours but it will feel good to finally get it finished.

Sew far from home: February 2011
http://sewfarfromhome.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
Sew far from home. Monday, February 28, 2011. Saturday was spent at the local quilt shop sewing block 2 and 3 of the Patriots quilt. Photos will follow when they are completed. I spent the afternoon making a nice cover for my Ipad, I got a Zagg Mate keyboard for it this week and I wanted to protect the silver cover from scratches. On the way home we were invited in for home made brownies and ice cream yum! Posted using BlogPress from my iPad. Saturday, February 26, 2011. By some sheer miracle they had an...
Sew far from home: Quilting in Vermont
http://sewfarfromhome.blogspot.com/2012/02/quilting-in-vermont.html
Sew far from home. Wednesday, February 29, 2012. Last Monday was my birthday and I was amazed when I found that DH had actually been listening to me when I was talking about the various gadgets that you can use for spinning. He had gone out to White barn sheep and wool and bought me a Niddy Noddy (used to create skeins of yarn after you have spun them) Who would have thought it. Just the borders to get added and it will all be done. A true labor of love. Thankfully we only got a couple of inches and by t...
Sew far from home: FFFreezing
http://sewfarfromhome.blogspot.com/2012/01/fffreezing.html
Sew far from home. Tuesday, January 3, 2012. The temperature has dropped significantly today and with the windchill it is in the mid teens. Definitely a good day to spend in the sewing room. I decided to make the quilt for the January challenge from my fave Yahoo group (small quilt group). It is from one of Kathleen Tracey's books Prarie Children and their quilts. Tomorrow I am up early and going to have a look at an embroidery guild that meets on a monthly basis. I will let you know how I get on. Septem...
Sew far from home: A Duck Says Quack
http://sewfarfromhome.blogspot.com/2012/01/duck-says-quack.html
Sew far from home. Monday, January 9, 2012. A Duck Says Quack. Hard to believe its January 9th already, still no snow although the temperature is dropping. We are always getting birds of prey in the garden but this one was so involved with the animal he had caught, he did not notice us. Unfortunately I only had my camera phone with me! I have been running a few times and one of my longest was 6 miles so I am pleased with the progress I am making. I ordered some new shoes for running on the trails, I ...

Sew far from home. Monday, June 27, 2011. Catching Up . again. It is so easy to loose the habit and then you end up always blogging about stuff that happened ages ago. So here is my catch up and I will try and update it more often. Lets finish off the Baltimore trip, lots of good food and fun mixed in with the work and I sense a theme with the restaurants there. Here is a picture from the outside of Cafe Hon yet another Elvis. Posted using BlogPress from my iPad. Tuesday, June 14, 2011. If you live in th...

Sew far from home. Thursday, May 26, 2011. England to Wales and back again. We rounded off the trip with a visit to Joe's for ice cream. Went to pick up Sarah at the outlaws but had to drive around the block for 5 mins so as not to upset the girlfriend who hadn't left yet :-) see I really am a sweetie. We went off to Porthcawl and had a fish and chips at the Atlantic and a good long chat. Posted using BlogPress from my iPad. Saturday, May 21, 2011. Family here I come. And the denim dress. She was also ab...

Sew far from home: FINAL DAYS OF 2011
http://sewfarfromhome.blogspot.com/2011/12/final-days-of-2011.html
Sew far from home. Thursday, December 29, 2011. FINAL DAYS OF 2011. Hard to believe, but we are nearing the end of 2011. Still no sign of snow but I am sure it will arrive soon. Yesterday we were greeted with a great sunrise, we have some lovely ones during Autumn and Winter. This morning I heard that my very clever niece has passed yet another audition with her oboe playing. I had already bought some musical fabric for her so I made clear view bag, zipped bag and a card case. Hope she likes them. Despit...
