I have lived in suburbia for almost all of my life and now I am leaving the burbs, moving 2000 miles away to live on the Navajo reservation in Arizona, an hour and a half from what I previously considered civilization (translation: the nearest Starbucks). It was a little late, since Monday was a Mud Day! We've counted each day, all the way up to 100 days of school, and we celebrated by doing lots of 100 activities. We had a "one hundred" snack (ten pieces each of ten different small snacks like goldfish), 100 puzzles, made a collage with one hundred (and more!

Thursday, October 14, 2010. Christmas Knitting. I love giving knitted gifts, but I don't like the stress of figuring out what to make everyone. This post is supposed to help me keep track of what I'm knitting for the kids (and maybe others). If you want to be surprised, don't look! Michael silky pirate shirt. Bekah toasty pocket creature. Tuesday, September 16, 2008. This was Michael's Christmas or Birthday gift when he was 12. I don't remember which. It no longer fits him. How sad. It fits me and its nice wool. Hmmm. Links to this post. Knitters are notorious for disliking purl. I wonder why that is. This little hat is mostly purl with four stockinette cables. I.
