My Taiji Journal: Inkling: Pushing With Little Effort
http://mytaijijournal.blogspot.com/2015/05/inkling-pushing-with-little-effort.html
I started my taiji journey proper in June 2005. This journal serves to publish the thoughts that I have while learning taijiquan. Thursday, May 21, 2015. Inkling: Pushing With Little Effort. Why are practitioners of internal martial arts able to push so effortlessly? I think the key may be in "moving together 上下相随" and "moving continuously 绵绵不断". Or so I think. Back to practice, and more practice. 31 May, 2015 13:16. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). From Singapore. Those interested in learning tra...
My Taiji Journal: Learning From Injuries
http://mytaijijournal.blogspot.com/2015/07/learning-from-injuries.html
I started my taiji journey proper in June 2005. This journal serves to publish the thoughts that I have while learning taijiquan. Tuesday, July 07, 2015. Recently, due to more practice, my right knee has been a bit sore. I had thought it was because it is not used to moving so much, and didn't think too much about it. Then, I pulled my left hamstring. As I start thinking about these injuries, I realised they are probably related, and there is something to learn from them. And why does it feel sore? Yang ...
My Taiji Journal: More Haste, Less Speed
http://mytaijijournal.blogspot.com/2015/08/more-haste-less-speed.html
I started my taiji journey proper in June 2005. This journal serves to publish the thoughts that I have while learning taijiquan. Friday, August 07, 2015. More Haste, Less Speed. Sometimes, we are impatient. We want to be good at something as quickly as we can. We want to rush. So we try to find different ways to improve. But sometimes, things take time. To be better at something, sometimes, it really is about the amount of time put into practice, and how what you practise. The styles that I know are:.
My Taiji Journal: Inkling: Water Vs Rock
http://mytaijijournal.blogspot.com/2015/06/inkling-water-vs-rock.html
I started my taiji journey proper in June 2005. This journal serves to publish the thoughts that I have while learning taijiquan. Saturday, June 13, 2015. Inkling: Water Vs Rock. By themselves, water and rocks do not move. When an external force acts on them, it causes them to move. When you push a rock, you are exerting a force on it. When that rock is pushed against a piece of glass, we all know what happens. When you push a rock at water, the water swallows the rock. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Learning to Fish in Singapore and Japan. Fishing is a popular pastime in Singapore and Japan, and here I will share my experiences on learning to fish, including my catches and the rigs that I use. Saturday, June 16, 2012. After a long break, I went fishing again! But today's main aim was not to catch fish, but to bring my son fishing. Kata Review | Aikido and Whatnot
https://eddiedeguzman.wordpress.com/2010/07/27/kata-review
Proof that I’m still alive! Posted by: Eddie deGuzman. July 27, 2010. It’s been quite a while since I attempted karate kata. My back has improved quite a bit so I thought I’d give it a go. Here are the links to kata Pinan 1-3. Overall, not bad movement, but it shows that I am no longer training in karate. I am not used to karate stances anymore. They feel long or cramped to me now after years of only aikido practice. Laquo; Complain Less, Train More. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here.

Learning to Fish in Singapore and Japan. Fishing is a popular pastime in Singapore and Japan, and here I will share my experiences on learning to fish, including my catches and the rigs that I use. Saturday, June 16, 2007. Catch report 16 Jun 07. As I didn't buy any prawns for use as bait, I got down to jigging for tambans, and was quite bored with the slow catch rate. I did manage to catch a whiting on tamban hooks, which I used as bait and floated it out. But I didn't catch anything with that. I have a...

My Taiji Journal
I started my taiji journey proper in June 2005. This journal serves to publish the thoughts that I have while learning taijiquan. Friday, April 06, 2018. I was watching a video online, where a taiji master was explaining about his method. He touched on something about being a set of moving gears, like an engine gearbox. Of course, this is a simplification. There are a lot more joints tracing the path from the ground to the point of application, and each is a set of gears being turned by the set befor...
