What the Fish!: November 2009
http://nafishnafish.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
Sunday, November 29, 2009. Amazing, I couldn't find a proper picture of how to rig a ranggong on the internet. So, here goes. My version. This is a general purpose bottom feeder rig. To be used when the current is strong. The current will push up the bait from the bottom. But don't use this when there are rocks. Chances of snagging is high, especially if the boat is drifting. Links to this post. Labels: bottom feeder rig. Saturday, November 28, 2009. First time fishing got to transfer boat. At first glan...
What the Fish!: October 2010
http://nafishnafish.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Sunday, October 10, 2010. After a long break, I am getting back to some simple morning fishing. For the ever obliging PBs. I needed the excerise and it felt good to be. Out in the morning breathing fresh air. A kaki had kindly shared about this location and we just had to check it out. Getting to the spot was easy and the terrain was easy walking without having to wade through muddy grounds. On my first cast, I already felt a tap. Jokingly, I told KT that we should be. Links to this post. Daiwa Monster M...
What the Fish!: June 2009

Saturday, June 27, 2009. KFC - Pontian Kelong. Reaching the town of Kukup. Quaint town of Kukup with the newly built ferry terminal. There was a chinese storey telling competition going on here. 20 years ago, here got lots of fishes. Kukup belongs to Pontian. Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Tide at that time was really low. The boat had to move slowly in the shallow waters. But once we hit the deeper waters, we zoomed away to the Kelong just ahead of us. Water turned better the further we...The group...
What the Fish!: July 2009
http://nafishnafish.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
Saturday, July 25, 2009. KFC - River Fishing At Sg Lebam. Inside the forest, got lots of monkeys. You shoot, I shoot. Here got pirates or not? The collect money lady pai kai boss. All our live prawns that KBLs can't resist. A row of houses on the river. Fish where you live. Can have BBQ here. Another boat polluting the air. That's how an anaconda boat would look like. Hey, a rainbow! The white divider is where the fresh water comes from. Nice shady spot. Great for an afternoon nap. Captain of the boat.

Monday, June 13, 2011. Apologies to my blog readers for my inactivity lately. Life has been out of whack, but this is an episode that I cannot NOT blog about it. You see, I have taken half a decade to eventually live about it to write this post. Except for some sporadic visits to ponds. Note, I had purposely left out name of the place.not wanting to make another stampede to clean up the fishes. But the news is spreading like wild fire, so it is likely that readers would already know the place). In the mo...

The Slog Reviews - Veni Vidi Vici. Faith is what gets you started. Hope is what keeps you going. And Love, Love is what brings you to the end.". Tuesday, May 19, 2015. Tomorrow the twins will be two. I am hoping that their turning two doesn't equate to a year full of tantrums, especially since both of them are able to articulate their needs, but from the way things have been panning out, I wouldn't hold out too much hope! My trips: May 2008
http://nafishnafish-trips.blogspot.com/2008_05_01_archive.html
Saturday, May 31, 2008. Info about the full 9Km walk. Quite high you know. It was quite nice. At a dizzyling height of about 70 metres above sea level, it was an engineering feat. The architectual was also quite modern and interesting. Not a bad addition to the limited list of things to do in Singapore. This is a good place to practise. Wow, this will make a good skate boarding course. Play your way home. Links to this post. Saturday, May 10, 2008. Sunset Grill and Bar. Driving up into Seletar Airbase, I...

My trips: Trip to land of yellow fruit and tall mountain
http://nafishnafish-trips.blogspot.com/2012/06/segamat-2012.html
Sunday, June 24, 2012. Trip to land of yellow fruit and tall mountain. The turnout wasn't that bad at all and there were actually 3 cars that would be heading up for the trip. At first, logistic was pretty challenging as most were afraid to drive to JB, much less to Segamat. I wasn't too hopeful and if people were not interested, I would have done it with couple of people in 1 car anyway. But turned out that the gathering was quite decent. Rest stop at Gelang Patah R&R. Best in Segamat, and some say Batam.

My trips: January 2010
http://nafishnafish-trips.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Sunday, January 10, 2010. Drive up to Mersing, Fishing Bay Resort, Air Papan. This was just an impromptu trip up to Mersing, to check out a resort known as fishing bay resort. As Pat had worked the night shift, we only set off towards it around 2pm. But Mersing wasn't particulary far away and was reachable within slightly more than 2 hours. Knick Knacks at the Caltex Station that we stopped for refilling. Ok, correct place. This Mc-Burgler guy keeps taking my photos. View of the lobby. I was expecting th...

My trips: Today Mall, Sutera Mall
http://nafishnafish-trips.blogspot.com/2010/02/today-mall-sutera-mall.html
Monday, February 15, 2010. Today Mall, Sutera Mall. CNY jam. But luckily, we cleared in 45mins. Secret recipe at Permas Jusco. Aiyah, the money changer was closed. Year of the Tiger, checked. Mummy eating Kid's meal. Even the entrance seemed unfinished. D and I had fun with a game of pool which she lost miserably, of course. Ah, we like to play this too. Arriving at Sutera Mall. Hey, it is big here. Got CNY tong chiang tong chiang. Nice pond outside the Mall. We were hungry, this looked interesting.

My trips: August 2008
http://nafishnafish-trips.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html
Monday, August 18, 2008. The afternoon wasn't too hot, but it was indeed humid enough to make a visit to Hort Garden a rather sweaty affair. From the way it is built, it really reminded me of places that I had visited in other european countries. And to add to the realism, there was an ang moh (german? Family that was there with their bunch of very noisy kids. So, it kinda felt like we were not in Singapore. Only the humidity was reminding us we have not left the mainland. Kung Fu Panda trained here.

Saturday, June 13, 2009. How are you feeling today? Ya Kun Kaya bread style coffee shop. Uncle handsome, I shoot you. This must certainly be the most difficult trip to get together. Timing was quite bad for most and despite trying all avenues, I only could get 3 cars in total to venture up for Segamat Durians. However, it was rare to have Francis, JS and their little boy zhiyu (knowledge of the whole universe) to join me. Alan, Ry and TC, J and friend also came along. Followed by a slow poke red car.

Saturday, May 30, 2009. Visit to Watukarung, East Java (Day6). From there, it was back to Batam and then a boat ride back to Singapore. We reached home rather late at around 4pm concluding a fruitful trip. Already, I am missing L. See her soon. Mother and daughter in embrace. Stopover at the highest hill near the Yjogakarta airport. Drinking kopi here while enjoying the scenary. Clear traffic early in the morning. Truckload of cows for the market. Rare sight of bikers wearing helmets. Cost of the KFC meal.

My trips: March 2008
http://nafishnafish-trips.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html
Sunday, March 16, 2008. It had been quite an uneventful week despite the school hols. I had. Just started on a new job and couldn't find the time to make a getaway. Also since the checkpoints would be quite a challenge given the heightened security checks taking place over the escaped fugitive. We were there to touch the future. What were they looking at? Countdown with electrifying effects. Hmm, I have seen this logo somewhere. We were there all right. He was known as Little George. We even saw some rob...

My trips
Skip to main content. My love for the road in a vehicle I can't afford; visiting places with a plan I don't have (ripped from Baby Driver). Sipping in the way of life of people I don't know, jotting down the moments with my loved ones. Keeping close at heart the memories that will be made, and be reminisced about in years to come. For at the end, these treasures are more than silver or gold. February 11, 2018. Trip to UK, Derby, London - Day 6. Its about 6.30am. Found the Heathrow Express Train! Trip to ...
