Nana's Faith: Then there was a goat in my bed
http://nanasfaith.blogspot.com/2014/03/then-there-was-goat-in-my-bed.html
8230; the unfeigned faith…, which dwelt first in thy grandmother …" 2 Timothy 1:5. Sunday, March 30, 2014. Then there was a goat in my bed. One afternoon, in the fall of my senior year of high school, I trudged in after a long day of chemistry and trigonometry. I flung my backpack on the couch and headed for my bedroom to mope like all 17-year-old girls do. In spite of years of experiences, I was stunned when I opened my bedroom door and was met with a “baaaa-aaaa.”. 8220;Oh. You mean the goat? 8220;What...

8230; the unfeigned faith…, which dwelt first in thy grandmother …" 2 Timothy 1:5. Saturday, June 9, 2012. The opportunity to watch people exploded with social media. With Twitter, Facebook, blogs, and discussion groups, I can watch thousands of people every day and I’m perplexed. I don’t understand people’s general definition of “blessings.”. 8220;God blessed us with a new television! 8221; (Hmmmm…. Maybe…). 8220;God blessed me with a great job making tons of money! 8220;I got a new iPad! My brethren, c...

8230; the unfeigned faith…, which dwelt first in thy grandmother …" 2 Timothy 1:5. Monday, November 7, 2011. My grandmother said it. My mother said it. I didn't understand until it happened to me. The moment you become a grandmother is nothing shy of miraculous. Eight years ago yesterday at almost midnight, I saw him for the first time. Eight years later I still marvel when I look at him. He is my future. I could fill pages with the joy he brings me and at the same time, I am speechless. Boast not thysel...
Nana's Faith: July 2011

8230; the unfeigned faith…, which dwelt first in thy grandmother …" 2 Timothy 1:5. Friday, July 29, 2011. I dropped Beau off at summer school this morning. As I was pulling away, I glanced in the rear-view mirror for a last check and I was stunned. Who was this big, gangly boy? He was wearing Beau's clothes but he was far to big to be Beau. My heart jumped and I pictured the smiling little baby boy who was my constant shadow. But he's still my constant shadow and he will always be my grandboy.

Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man." Colossians 4:6. Saturday, February 28, 2009. Most people are bothered by those passages of Scripture they do not understand, but the passages that bother me are those I do understand. If you want to read it with me, here it is. Wednesday, August 13, 2008. It's been two weeks since I posted anything here. What a slacker! With working and Elisha being out of school for two weeks, my time has been a little more squeezed. The past week, I've spent most of my spare time watching the Olympics. I love watching Michael Phelps because he has so much fun doing what he does! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Nana's Fabulous Life
My Nana was fabulous just like yours! Monday, April 23, 2012. Herbed Quinoa Tomato Soup. It is a rainy Monday- the perfect day for a huge bowl of soup and a good book. Lunchtime soups can be tricky- I need to turn around a midday meal fast- often in 10 minutes or less. I am not a fan of canned soup with one exception: canned tomato soup. I've dabbled making homemade tomato soup and it is good- but never as good as a can of Campbell's tomato soup. One 10 3/4 ounce can tomato soup. One cup Pre-cooked quinoa.

Nana's Faith
8230; the unfeigned faith…, which dwelt first in thy grandmother …" 2 Timothy 1:5. Monday, April 24, 2017. Why is it that some kids endure unspeakable trauma and still become functional adults? Why is it that one child of an abusive alcoholic becomes a loving parent and another child from the same home abandons her children? Why is it that one child of a mentally ill parent spends the rest of his life in therapy and another child escapes the dysfunction? In high school, a Sunday school teacher prayed wit...
