Napoleonics20/20: June 2015

http://www.napoleonics.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html

Monday, 22 June 2015. The 1814 Campaign dissected. Unbeknown to the Allies the French had static spies. The umpire allocated start positions to 60% of the French army. However the 1. Infantry Division (2 brigades of Old G, 1 brigade of Middle G, and 1 brigade of Young G) as well as the 1. Wait for the Russians to cross the river Marne at the Vitry le Fancois bridge and crush them with overwhelming forces. Success or failure the French were to fall back to Paris. The Russians by-passed the bridge at Vitry...

Napoleonics20/20: August 2015

http://www.napoleonics.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html

Monday, 24 August 2015. Objectives: The hill on the Russian right flank, the village/church (had to take and hold two out the three buildings) and the farm (gain both buildings). Their idea: Was to take the hill and dominate the centre so be able to take the village in due course. It was not anticipated that taking the farm was a realistic option. Their idea: smash and grab the hill and launch a massed cavalry assault in the centre. The Cossacks (supporting the hill attack) refused to cross the stream on...

Napoleonics20/20: June 2014

http://www.napoleonics.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html

Tuesday, 10 June 2014. Napoleonic 20mm game. 1813. An excellent game was held in the barn with 20mm Napoleonic figures a couple of weeks ago. 5 objectives were to be fought over. A-E on the map. 29 x 6 table. French strategy was to punch a hole in the centre, whilst the Allies had a more balanced deployment. A mixture of Prussian and Russian cavalry in the centre meant that the French assault had to be delayed. In the end, a marginal Allied victory. Prussian Cuirassiers and Dragoons are deployed. Russian...

Waterloo to Mons : December 2014

http://waterlootomons.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html

Monday, 29 December 2014. I could not let 2014 without at least one more post. Here are the only figures I have managed to paint in two months, the lovely N1 Naval Brigade Sailor advancing. Jacklex 20mm sailors from HMS Nostalgia! I am going for "look good en mass" appeal, but with output currently at less than a figure a week it is going to take some imagination at the moment! So, Happy New Year to you all and I will be back in early 2015. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Hinton Hunt Vintage Wargame Figures.

Waterloo to Mons : September 2014

http://waterlootomons.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html

Sunday, 28 September 2014. I have finally finished the remaining Pax Britannica/RSM 95 ACW figures. A restrained pose for the Southern cavaliers I think. This marks the last of the commission work and so I am able to say whatever comes next is all for me.hooray! I will start by adding to the 1914 British and will probably not return to the "War Between the States" chapter until the New Year when I pick up on those Western theatre 10mm figures started in the Spring. Waterloo to Mons : March 2015

http://waterlootomons.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html

Tuesday, 31 March 2015. Second Box of Soldiers Complete! The second box of Revell British artillery is finished and packed off heading for the Battle of Waterloo diorama. I am now working on some rather lovely Hinton Hunt British for Ian and Roy's Battle of Waterloo re-fight. I plan to get some of my own ACW and Colonial figures painted up before I return to more plastic artillery for the diorama. Hopefully the Bank Holiday weekend will produce some more pictures. Labels: Battle of Waterloo. While it may...

Waterloo to Mons : Italeri French Guard Horse Arillery

http://waterlootomons.blogspot.com/2015/05/italeri-french-guard-horse-arillery.html

Monday, 18 May 2015. Italeri French Guard Horse Arillery. So, what do you get in a box of Italeri plastic Guard Artillery? Quite a lot of pieces actually in a bright blue plastic that goes to make up these:. Two mounted officers, two gun and crews firing and some "bits". Plus the limber gun and limber crew.made up of thousands of pieces, nearly! Next up, possibly even tomorrow, is "What do you get in a box of HaT French Ambulance wagons? Labels: Battle of Waterloo. Waterloo to Mons : April 2015

http://waterlootomons.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html

Thursday, 23 April 2015. Even More British Artillery c.1815. After a good start on the painting front April tailed off a lot and so I am rather pleased to be able to get one more post in. More British Waterloo artillery, this time from "House of Campaign". The number of poses is a lot less than the Revell plastics but they look the part. I have six more guns and crews to finish off and before I move on to the French, starting with the Italeri French Guard Horse Artillery. Labels: Battle of Waterloo.

Waterloo to Mons : August 2014

http://waterlootomons.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html

Friday, 15 August 2014. Wargaming the Franco Prussian War. 40mm Grenadier of Napoleon III's Imperial Guard 1870. I did intend to finish up some more ACW figures before introducing the Franco Prussian War onto the blog. However I started to paint this 40mm figures from Gringo 40s Miniatures. And, well, I could not stop. The chapter of Glover's book that has always grabbed my attention is "The Rise of Prussia" and lets face it, when it comes to European Wars of the 19th Century the FPW is "the big one".

Waterloo to Mons : Back in the Saddle

http://waterlootomons.blogspot.com/2015/05/back-in-saddle.html

Sunday, 17 May 2015. Back in the Saddle. Well I actually had a choice of what to post this evening - all of it is for other people's collections but what the hey! I have decided to go with the Hinton Hunt British Light Dragoons for Ian's Battle of Waterloo game later this year. 11th Light Dragoons from Hinton Hunt. Labels: Battle of Waterloo. Warfare in the Age of Bonaparte. 17 May 2015 at 22:46. Nice work, Matt! Are the swords replacements or OEM? 17 May 2015 at 23:06. 18 May 2015 at 00:45. HaT French N...

http://waterlootomons.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html

Monday, 27 October 2014. Bringing Up the Guns. I finally have something new to show for October.hoorah! 18pdr Limber and Crew from the Tumbling Dice "Old Contemptibles" 20mm range. Hopefully things will calm down after a while otherwise my (already slow) painting output will become positively glacial. For now though I have a few more 1914 German infantry prepped and ready for painting-hopefully finished before I go back to work next week. Labels: Battle of Mons. Wednesday, 8 October 2014. Waterloo to Mons : Italeri French Guard Artillery a WIP

http://waterlootomons.blogspot.com/2015/05/italeri-french-guard-artillery-wip.html

Tuesday, 5 May 2015. Italeri French Guard Artillery a WIP. Incredibly it has been well over a week since Salute. Took my youngest son again who really enjoyed the day out and together we have made plans about our wargaming future. More on this later but we have bought into a rather excellent 15mm Scifi range and rule set amongst other changes. This is how to dress when confronting the enemy! I have also completed the last six British artillery in addition to the last post. Busy times ahead! This blog is ...

Sunday, 25 March 2018. Saxon Guard Battalion 1813. I'm struggling to maintain the blog as anyone reading this will have guested. Doing plenty of stuff, mostly WW2 in 20mm, lots and lots of building plus painting. I have recently finish this Battalion.
