Napoleonics in Miniature

Sunday, 25 March 2018. Saxon Guard Battalion 1813. I'm struggling to maintain the blog as anyone reading this will have guested. Doing plenty of stuff, mostly WW2 in 20mm, lots and lots of building plus painting. I have recently finish this Battalion. I have a few videos in youtube of what I've been working on if anyone is interested. I've completed a Russian Jäger battalion, 5 figures away from completing a Pavlov battalion and half way through another Russian jäger battalion. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Napoleonics in Miniature: May 2015

http://napoleonicsinminiature.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html

Friday, 29 May 2015. A quick post, here are a couple of Prussian ADC's I converted a wee while back and painted up as part of my Warboss Tae's May Painting Challenge, the final video is below if anyone is interested:. And some pics of the ADC's below if not. I think this guys my favourite done as an officer of the Brandenburg hussars. Headswapped and neck drilled then pinned with paperclip and superglue with some putty to tidy up. The body fits the head well. MiniNatur flowers and turfs for fun. I'm also...

Napoleonics in Miniature: May 2014

http://napoleonicsinminiature.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html

Tuesday, 6 May 2014. I was up at my brothers a couple of night back and took the camera to get some pics of the figures the Davids have been working on this past year. Young David finished this Swiss battalion last year and is half way through the 2nd battalion however he has moved onto other things. I'll post them on my modelling blog soon as they are mostly fantasy and WW2. Poor pics I'm afraid as the light in the back room was not great even with the spot light on however you get the idea. Monsieur le...

Napoleonics in Miniature: David's 4th Hussars WIP

http://napoleonicsinminiature.blogspot.com/2015/08/david-4th-hussars-wip.html

Thursday, 6 August 2015. Davids 4th Hussars WIP. I forgot to post these pics. My nephew David has finished half a regiment of the French 4th hussars using AB figures. I really like the look of the AB hussars, loads of character and the charging versions are particularly nice. The only down point is the officer with sword hanging from his arm. I believe there is a superior officer that you can purchase separately that can be added as a charging officer however we did not know that at the time. Good to hea...

Wednesday, 20 May 2015. Prussian Horse Artillery 1813-15. I'm pleased to say the May Painting Challenge is going well and today I put the finishing touches to my AB Prussian HA. If you are interested in the video progress you can find the latest over on YouTube here:. Or if you prefer there are pics below . . . A huge thanks to Darren who I purchased a large amount of my unpainted AB Prussians From a few years ago. Darren kindly sent up a load of AB Prussian guns he found long after our transaction a...

Knight Craft: February 2011

http://bringontheknights.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html

This is a journal of an amateur sculptor of miniatures and his quest to achieve excellence in mould-making and casting of hand crafted knights and medieval figures. Monday, February 28, 2011. Can the average guy create his own mini army from scratch? Sculpt, mould, cast and paint all in the kitchen sink? The first step is that I prep my figure with wooden dowels for the pour and vent holes at the base of the mould. Then my sculpt takes the goo bath. The second half of the goo bath. My first three 28mm re...

Hello friends - Bigglesworth here. Mrs. Bigglesworth decided to go with friends to spa country here in California for a weekend of mud baths, massages and facials. What is a miniature enthusiast to do with the house to himself for a weekend? Maybe Germans vs. Russians mayhem in 1/72 scale! The armor being painted. Over-...

Knight Craft: March 2011

http://bringontheknights.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html

This is a journal of an amateur sculptor of miniatures and his quest to achieve excellence in mould-making and casting of hand crafted knights and medieval figures. Sunday, March 13, 2011. I like to start with a sculpy dolly on a wire armature. I know most people probably prefer to go right to the putty, but I have a thing for sculpy. You can see that I try to build as much anatomy as possible to guide the sculpt as it develops later. I then add the tunic and layer it over the chain mail skirt. Because t...

La Patrie en Danger: Resources Page

http://lapatrie1814.blogspot.com/2013/09/resources-page.html

La Patrie en Danger. Wargaming Napoleon's 1814 campaign. Resources for the 1814 Campaign. Sunday, 22 September 2013. One of the biggest obstacles to wargaming the 1814 campaign is the paucity of information available, the majority of books on the topic are terribly lacking in the detail that wargamers require. Order of battle information, if it’s included at all, is given at divisional level and the description of battles is far more narrative that I’ve found in books covering other campaigns. If you kno...

This is a journal of an amateur sculptor of miniatures and his quest to achieve excellence in mould-making and casting of hand crafted knights and medieval figures. Monday, January 23, 2012. Sculpted this medieval civilian over the weekend. You can see I sculpted him over one of the dolls I cast a few weeks back. It really made the process go smoothly. My nobleman stands by and watches his horse start to take shape. Yes, I am going to be attempting horses soon. Stay tuned to see how they come out. Count ...

This is a journal of an amateur sculptor of miniatures and his quest to achieve excellence in mould-making and casting of hand crafted knights and medieval figures. Monday, November 19, 2012. I seem to alternate sculpting efforts between the middle ages and a strange distant future when pigs walk around on their hind legs and wear space gear. Two figures - the green sculpt and the cast - painted versions. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Mentors and Mad Geniuses. The Command so far.
