Nat's Adventures Abroad

Thursday, March 24, 2011. THE PAST MONTH OF LIFE. To my readers (if anyone actually reads this thing) and to my future self:. I'm sorry for not updating this with my latest adventures. The past month has been nothing short of a whirlwind that took me completely by surprise. But now that I FINALLY have a minute to write, I'm going to try to recall the past 4 weekends/ weeks in a brief summary. (As opposed to the usual play-by-play account that I usually include). First meal in Rome! Now for the main event!

Nat's Adventures Abroad: El Rastro, Teleférico Madrid, and McDonald's

http://www.natsadventuresabroad.blogspot.com/2011/02/el-rastro-teleferico-madrid-and.html

Wednesday, February 2, 2011. El Rastro, Teleférico Madrid, and McDonald's. This doesn't do the Palacio Real justice, but here it is! Madds and Me at Príncipe Pío. We walked a few blocks from the mall, up a hill along a side road and finally found it! We only got lost once, so that was great! And I got a coke–which doesn't really sound like a big deal, but when cokes cost 5 euro at a restaurant, and you're one a strict budget, coke becomes a luxury. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Nat's Adventures Abroad: Dora and Boots...

http://www.natsadventuresabroad.blogspot.com/2011/02/dora-and-boots.html

Saturday, February 26, 2011. Anna and a few of her friends left for Sevilla this weekend (I didn't go with them because I'm going with Stewart and Mitch during Spring break), so Mitch and I decided that we would explore a few places in Madrid (some that either one or both of us had already seen, but had not fully known what we were seeing). So we explored Madrid like Dora and Boots. Arch de Glorietta San Vicente. This is continued at a later date). We got there and immediately paused to take some picture...

Nat's Adventures Abroad: IRELANDA

http://www.natsadventuresabroad.blogspot.com/2011/02/irelanda.html

Saturday, February 12, 2011. It seems as thought the longer I am in Spain, the less I blog! I'm sorry for this trend, but I know that you are all DYING to hear about my trip to Ireland last weekend! With our super cheap sandwiches! Madds, Anna, and me outside the storehouse! Dublin Skyline from the Gravity bar. We entered the airport and were immediately greeted by sings IN ENGLISH. I cannot tell you how refreshing it was to see my native language clearly displayed on every sign! We love each other?

Nat's Adventures Abroad: An Average Week

http://www.natsadventuresabroad.blogspot.com/2011/02/average-week.html

Friday, February 4, 2011. 9829; Madrid♥. SO, this week was a pretty normal week, full of classes, friends, good food and the Spanish language. I do have to put a disclaimer about the word "average." An average. Unfortunately (it's not really that unfortunate, but) I will be leaving this beautiful city tomorrow to go to Dublin Ireland where Anna, Ariel, Maddy and I are sure to have countless adventures. Hopefully I'll actually have a point to my post when we return on Sunday! Not only am I looking forward...

Once In A Lifetime Opportunities In Spain: First Timer In Spain

http://maddyurban.blogspot.com/2011/01/first-timer-in-spain.html

Once In A Lifetime Opportunities In Spain. Wednesday, January 12, 2011. First Timer In Spain. We grabbed our luggage, I found Trish, we found a cab, and headed towards our señora's house. Amazingly, we knew exactly where to go once the taxi dropped us off, and we met our señora. To get our suitcases up the stairs, we had to use a tiny elevator that would only fit one big suitcase and a person! Today was the first day of school, and I was so excited for it to start! There are always people walking on the ...

Once In A Lifetime Opportunities In Spain: Coming to an End

http://maddyurban.blogspot.com/2011/04/coming-to-end.html

Once In A Lifetime Opportunities In Spain. Monday, April 25, 2011. Coming to an End. Ireland-Had so much fun even though it was rainy. Going out there was so much fun, and we met some great English guys. We were pretty much just excited that we didn't have to speak Spanish. Sevilla-Beautiful city in Spain! Had kind of a scary hostel experience, but it was nice to see a different area and culture. Mia, Emily, Gaby, Natalie, Ariel and Anna). I can honestly say I will never go back, but the Heineken Tour an...

Once In A Lifetime Opportunities In Spain: First Real Weekend In Spain

http://maddyurban.blogspot.com/2011/01/first-real-weekend-in-spain.html

Once In A Lifetime Opportunities In Spain. Saturday, January 15, 2011. First Real Weekend In Spain. On thursday, I had my second day of classes, having 2 new classes, and my spanish class again which I have everyday Monday through Thursday. I took spanish this way so I wouldn't have classes on Fridays! At 7 o'clock I had my Volcanoes class, which I am super pumped about! I was wearing heels, and eventually took them off because it was so long. We did end up finding it and it was so much fun! That night I...

¡Viva España!: They speak Greek in Greece

http://ahyams.blogspot.com/2011/05/they-speak-greek-in-greece.html

Un semestre y pico en un país fenomenal. Wednesday, May 25, 2011. They speak Greek in Greece. We willingly moved, but the ferry guy wouldn't tell us where we were supposed to sit instead. He just kept telling us we were in this couple's seats. Eventually we managed to communicate our confusion and he got some deck chairs for us and placed them in the middle of the hallway by the stairs. Comfy, no? We had a chill night reading our books and went to bed early. Walking along the pathway. And grabbed lunch a...

¡Viva España!: March 2011

http://ahyams.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html

Un semestre y pico en un país fenomenal. Tuesday, March 29, 2011. Family, Salmon and Bullfighting. This is my backyard. My friend the moose. Gabi, Nuria and me with our Happy Spring treats from Nuria. Side note: I wish I had gotten a lung scan before I left the US so I could get another one when I get back and see how many second hand smoke effects build up over six months.). The governor of the bull fight. It's like a dance! The parade before the fights start. Warming up those capes! Granada is at the s...

http://ahyams.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html

Un semestre y pico en un país fenomenal. Monday, January 31, 2011. Stripes, Sleepovers and Revenge. Everything is about what's on your feet! Anyways, at the mall we wandered around, stopping at all of the shops that sold boots. I'm on the hunt for a pair of my own so that I don't have to borrow Gabi's anymore. (Thanks roomie! My friend really likes seals. We ended up back at the mall waiting for Heather to join us so we could go on an aerial cable car tour of Madrid. After that I came home and amazingly ...

Once In A Lifetime Opportunities In Spain: Saturday Nights In Spain

http://maddyurban.blogspot.com/2011/01/saturday-nights-in-spain.html

Once In A Lifetime Opportunities In Spain. Monday, January 17, 2011. Saturday Nights In Spain. So in Spain, night life here is huge! Of course, my night wouldn't be complete without a creeper. He would not leave me alone for a half hour, and took a creepy picture of me! Thank god I had my girlfriends there to save me! We left the club at 4 am, got back around 4:30 from a taxi, and I finally went to bed at about 5. We had a bunch of time to ourselves that day, so Jill, Caroline and I took the time to expl...

Un semestre y pico en un país fenomenal. Tuesday, May 24, 2011. 1) Europe is amazing. 2) People are amazing. Me, Vaughn and Anna with one of the coolest, most active couples we met in our B/M/P adventure. Or you can have people like Martin Luther King Jr who are awesome because their actions leave you in awe of the fact that they had that much courage and faith in humanity to make a positive difference.
