Libraries, life, and everything between. I just received word about my practicum placement: Wendt Library, which is….ENGINEERING.* Gulp! My English-major heart is quaking a little at the thought, but it’s an incredible opportunity to gain lots of experience. Some of my duties will include:. Moderating online discussions (it’s an online class). Maintaining the grade book. Checking over course materials to make sure it all makes sense and links, etc. work. Teaching library resource sessions. I have to work...

Libraries, life, and everything between. Monday Eye Candy: HTML5. My Information Architecture professor was talking about the future of the internet in class tonight, and one of the things we discussed was HTML5. Although it’s not implemented yet, one of its future properties is the ability to draw on the screen and create, as my professor put it, “visual images on the fly.”. Sound of the Archives! September 9, 2013. Autumn is always good to me. I have settled on my first tattoo idea. I’ve decided on the ampersand, which not only has an interesting history. At least to me), but is also meaningful and just intrinsically beautiful to me. It’s one of those visuals that I don’t understand why I like it, but I do — though I suppose most things are like that. For me, “& #8221; signals to not despair, because there is more. I hope that my other future tattoos will be remin...Click t...

I don’t even like the word limbo though | Archive 34
https://archive34.wordpress.com/2014/03/16/989
Sound of the Archives! March 16, 2014. I don’t even like the word limbo though. I’d say we’re in limbo again, but I’m ever so slowly realizing that adulthood is anything but stable and always in limbo. Becoming a responsible adult is the easy part; the hard part is managing constant change and uncertainty. There will never be employment that is a sure thing for life, and I don’t know why I was always working towards that, anyway. Wouldn’t that be dull? You DON’T want a nap! I just didn’t expect this.

Our Fund Drive | SLIS MetaDiners
https://metadiners.wordpress.com/2012/01/05/our-fund-drive
Well, the MetaDiners completed their first Fund Drive! Today we got a letter in the mail that finalized it: we donated a whopping total of $39.50 … but that donated 119 meals to residents around Dane County. That feels pretty good, doesn’t it? Until next time though, I am proud of our 119 meals! 3 thoughts on “ Our Fund Drive. January 30, 2012 at 8:42 am. That’s pretty cool, you guys! Wi Love Cheese ! | SLIS MetaDiners
https://metadiners.wordpress.com/2012/02/27/wi-love-cheese
I am from California, and moved to Wisconsin just for graduate school. Here are the two things everyone — EVERYONE — mentioned in some way or another as they found out I was moving to Wisconsin: winter … and cheese. Now, being from California, obviously we’re ignorant and full of ourselves, and I only had a vague idea about the amount of cheese here. For example, cheese curds? To get an even more thorough education though, my friend and co-MetaDiner Meg and I visited the Wisconsin Historical Museum.
