Pacific Crest Trail 2014, Northbound hiker journal. 2014 PCT Gear list review. Monthly Archives: September 2014. Post trail depression is real, my post trail life update. This is for those of you still hiking or just ending your hikes. I would like to discuss something which is well known, post-hike depression and what it means to someone after a hike and what it can do to you, the hiker, when you get off trail and have to face the real world again. Anything at all…. In other words; it sucks. As in all d...

Pacific Crest Trail 2014, Northbound hiker journal. 2014 PCT Gear list review. I updated my gear page. With reviews and some explanation on what worked and what didn’t. Some stuff I got rid of almost immediately and others I carried for the entire time I was on trail. Next up I need to do a full PCT page listing all the entries fror the PCT 2014 attempt and add in all the videos now that I have them all uploaded. This entry was posted in pct. August 5, 2014. Day 1, elation and pain. Mile 0 to 15.1. Final...

Day 89 – halfway, ulcers | Navigating the surface

https://navigatingthesurface.com/2014/07/22/day-89-halfway-ulcers

Pacific Crest Trail 2014, Northbound hiker journal. 2014 PCT Gear list review. Day 89 – halfway, ulcers. Miles: 1308.5 to 1331.9. Made it to the mileage halfway point today felling very very ill. Had some slow energy drain issues the last few days that other people noticed. Basically my thru-hike is over because of this and it sucks because there is nothing I can do now, I thought I was done with ulcers and was too busy worried about pain in my feet and legs to think of pain elsewhere. July 22, 2014.

Pacific Crest Trail 2014, Northbound hiker journal. 2014 PCT Gear list review. Traveler, artist, software engineer, writer and hobo. One year, a retrospective of sorts. One year after the PCT I have been watching the current class posting their finish pictures and noticing that PCT friends are all a little bit more nostalgic about their finish pictures and I see some rumblings about ‘doing it again’ which may be in the cards for me down the road. I have given a lot of thought to the PCT over the last year.

Being a record of the journeys of a literary sojourner. Since there are a lot of questions out there about the trail, I thought I’d try to answer some of the more common ones in one convenient place. You’re welcome. I’ll try to answer any questions, so send them my way (via comment here, personal message, singing telegram, jetpack-mounted zeppelin-based patratrooper whatever pleases you). Itinerary | Professor Errant

https://professorerrant.wordpress.com/itinerary

Being a record of the journeys of a literary sojourner. This schedule was put together from information provided in Yogi’s PCT Guidebook. And Craig’s PCT Planner. Which are invaluable resources. (Actually, Craig’s plan puts me in Canada about 10 days earlier than my calculations I’m going with my dates here, and if I speed up as I go, I’ll probably draw even with his). Splinter’s Cabin [start]. Agua Dulce (1 zero day). Mammoth Lakes (2 zero days). Ashland (2 zero days). Cascade Locks (1 zero day). Good i...

About | Professor Errant

https://professorerrant.wordpress.com/about-me

Being a record of the journeys of a literary sojourner. And then I forgot. Through school and work and traveling to Washington for a Master’s in Creative Writing and to Toronto for a Master’s in English Literature, through getting married and figuring out what it meant to be a grown-up (I still hope to figure that out someday), the trail dream faded. The epic degenerates in the face of the mundane sometimes. I’ll be hiking the trail to fulfill this dream. I’ll be walking as a writer, filling my min...

Pacific Crest Trail 2014, Northbound hiker journal. 2014 PCT Gear list review. Two years off trail, wow…. To follow up on my last post on this blog, I did go down to Costa Rica but ended up coming back to LA in a rather massive change of plans and life adjustment (see below). I’m still at the same company and just wrote an extensive article there on creating robust application in the cloud. Life is going very well. Navigating the Tensions of Discipleship. Wednesday, April 18, 2012. Jesus said,] "I tell you the truth, unless you CHANGE and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.". The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still [and pray]. Do you ever wonder who will fight for you? Do you feel all alone?
