NCS Art - Kindergarten. 2012-2013 Elem. Art Blog. Sunday, December 4, 2016. This past week we created 'Pinch Pots' using air dry clay. We learned several clay techniques: the pinching method, tool use and adding clay with slip. We first made a pinch pot using the pinching method. This involves using your thumb and two index finders and pinching the pot slowing to form the bow. Students also added small ball shapes to either the rim or outside of the pot. Awesome Inc. theme. NCS Art - First Grade. 2012-2013 Elem. Art Blog. Sunday, November 27, 2016. I hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday Week. This past week, 1st graders created turkeys or peacocks by first making a basic pattern that covered their whole paper. We folded this paper to create the turkey or peacock's feathers. We used a fuzzy stick to make the body and learn some basic twisting techniques for wire. These turned out really great and they were so fun to make! We talked about foods that we see this time of year.
