Friday, March 28, 2008. Dad had a good week. more walking, more leg movement, more fine hand movements (he dialed a call by himself on his cell phone when I was there on Monday! He is really working on his hand strength. He has great upper body strength but needs to develop the strength in his hand so that he can begin supporting his weight on a walker. Wednesday, February 27, 2008. Things have been pretty stable. the staphe infection has nearly cleared up. but please keep to the cleaning of hands coming in and leaving! Dad was on the standing table for 22 minutes the other day - and his blood pressure stayed stable! His heart is adjusting to being upright. Thursday, March 13, 2008. 3/13/2008 Pictures from 3/12/2008. Here are some pictures I took yesterday (Wednesday March 11th) of Dad on the ambulator (the walking machine). He was supporting 15-18% of his own weight! This will continue to build as time goes by. He has a new roommate - Don who is (can you believe this! A car salesman from Saco (Volkswagen dealership) who lives in Kennebunk (about 1 1/2 miles from me! He is really nice and they are getting along very well. FRANK GALOS GIRLS said.

Wednesday, March 5, 2008. Dad has been approved for another week at New England Rehab - we are going on a week by week basis at this point - the doctor wants 7 more weeks so hopefully that will happen! Amy has been investigating other rehab facilities (of the next level down from NERH) and is currently looking at Cedar's in Portland and Seal Rock in Saco. if anyone has any experiences with either, we would love to hear from you!
