Six years ago, November 9, was the due date assigned to my first pregnancy. Devastatingly, my daughter Charlotte arrived on July 25, 2006, 107 days too soon. Born at 1 lb. 6 oz. and 24 weeks into the pregnancy, Charlotte was classified as a micro-premie. Charlotte spent 105 long days in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and was discharged on oxygen therapy. She underwent numerous doctor appointments, surgeries, hospitalizations and therapeutic interventions throughout her first years of life.
