Canoeing down the Niger river in a dugout, a stop at a beach and a gentle swim across the sandy water. Though as the river was no deeper than chest high clear across, I could have walked across! Perhaps, but I definitely wince when I see kids as young as eight tapping on the taxi window to sell cellphone charge cards. Wow, this really is a delicate subject.
