Both his father’s parents are gone, but his sister now stays in the family home. It is a Nair tradition for the property to go to the oldest daughter. The Nair traditions are matrilineal so the woman is actually the most powerful member of the family. I suddenly felt accepted were prior I wasn’t so sure.

Saturday, July 15, 2006. My biggest worry was the weather. I didn’t realize until a month prior that the room my sister so graciously donated was not air-conditioned. Missouri in the dead of summer is not only hot, but very humid. I am glad the wedding we small. Sure I could have invited a bunch of people that I haven’t seen since highschool, but why? Not that I wouldn’t love to see some of them, but it was nice to be able to just focus on the people I feel are still a really important part of my life.

Monday, September 27, 2004. I came across this funky stuff looking for a cure to some recently experienced stomach pain. It seems the older i get, the more sensitive my stomach has become. Sunday, May 07, 2006. Life In The Suburbs. So Praveen and I have spent an unreal amount of time working in our front yard. We started by digging up all the weeds. Then we dug about 8 trenches by hand. We later found out that they have this really cool thing you can rent called a trencher. Ooops, too late! Finally we are now close to the finish line.
