Wednesday, April 13, 2011. Overall this class has personally been the most influential for me because coming from never really ready/not wanting to read it has showed me the knowledge of books that you cant get from other things like the internet, or movies or tv shows. after taking this class it has changed my entire plan of college and i have definitely put alot of thought into pursuing something along the lines of literature. Thanks Dr. Mortimore. Wednesday, April 6, 2011. Thursday, March 31, 2011.

Nick's Blog: March 2011

http://www.nickkosinski.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html

Thursday, March 31, 2011. My opinion of this book was quite baffling, like the short story the lottery i am still a little confused on why someone would even write about something like that or where the idea comes from. the hunger games is a little more practical but still i am a little baffled by it because of the plot and the sequence of events, again how does someone think of that? Wednesday, April 6, 2011. Books can be dangerous because of where they put your head and your mindset. people begin to think and question which opens more doors and more questions. knowledge can be over powering to some people. April 9, 2011 at 9:16 AM. Yeah, Im not a big book reader either. April 9, 2011 at 12:43 PM. Yeah, reading the wiki summary is lose enough to burning it. April 12, 2011 at 5:25 AM. This blog post makes me sad haha. April 25, 2011 at 7:31 PM. I second that greg haha. The End is Near.

Monday, April 4, 2011. I like the hunger games a lot. It was interesting and easy to get into. I enjoyed how katniss, didn't just try and survive but also fought the game makers. it made the book interesting and thought provoking. I'm not sure if it really relates to the other readings other than an out of this time setting and odd reason for fighting society. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Blog Ten: Opened Eyes. Saturday, February 12, 2011. February 13, 2011 at 8:58 AM. Thats why solitary confinement is a punishment. I would love to hear more about what your experiences would entail or perhaps why mankind isnt designed for seclusion. February 13, 2011 at 3:14 PM. I agree with you quote i think that humans arent supposed to live completely secluded for long periods of time. i do feel like having interactions with other people is definitely an essential part of developing and keeping social life. The Lit Pit: In the End

http://a-bit-of-lit.blogspot.com/2011/04/in-end.html

Monday, April 25, 2011. I also thought that the class had a great mix of classics and modern books. I was glad I finally read 1984, and F*451 (even though I found 1984 pretty slow), and I thought Feed and Hunger Games were great, I recommended both to people I know who read a lot, and I also read the rest of the Hunger Games series. April 26, 2011 at 9:28 AM. I think your right, by doing the reading a lot has been accomplished for our eyes to open. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). The End is Near.

The Lit Pit: Hunger Games

http://a-bit-of-lit.blogspot.com/2011/04/hunger-games.html

Friday, April 1, 2011. I was very impressed by Hunger Games, it held my attention, it was exciting, and I actually ordered the next two books right after I finished. I found my favorite parts where when Katniss actually fought. When she had to defend herself and Peeta at the end, when she avenged Rues death, and even when she shot the apple out of the pig's mouth because she was frustrated with the game makers. The Lit Pit: Burning Books

http://a-bit-of-lit.blogspot.com/2011/04/burning-books.html

Friday, April 8, 2011. I don't think a world without books could exist, books are the original form of story telling, they inspire thought, creativity, and imagination. A world without books is a world without free thought. Where would information come from if not from what has been written down. April 9, 2011 at 9:21 AM. Yeah, if there ever was a world without books it would be very devastating to say the least. April 11, 2011 at 8:11 AM. April 11, 2011 at 12:21 PM. April 12, 2011 at 5:29 AM.

Friday, April 15, 2011. When looking back in this class i think it has given me a new perspective on technology. it has shown me that our world is slowly losing its well rounded cultures and turning into a mind numbing society with the want for nothing but fast and simple pleasures. this class has allowed me to read several novels that i would have never had the opportunity or thought to have taken the time to read. Saturday, April 9, 2011. April 11, 2011 at 12:23 PM. I agree that the intelligence level as a whole, without books would drop. April 12, 2011 at 5:27 AM. http://a-bit-of-lit.blogspot.com/2011/03/jersey-shore.html

Monday, March 28, 2011. March 28, 2011 at 6:55 PM. Is it not the same with sports and the news in a way? Yes it win or lose but now drugs in sports tamper the games which leads to the news talking about the issues making more people watch the shows/ games. March 29, 2011 at 7:55 AM. I agree withy our statement on reality shows blowing up small altercations. aimed towards jersey shore lol but again i do believe as long the ratings are through the roof i dont think the drama is going anywhere.

Thursday, April 14, 2011. Blog Ten: Opened Eyes. I feel like this class was more free and thought provoking, which in many classes that opportunity doesn’t exist. This class allowed us to open our minds to the issues we face as a society. We not only shared our opinions on these topics but we were also exposed to literature that backed these issues up and put them into context. April 17, 2011 at 9:29 AM. April 18, 2011 at 9:57 AM. Welcome...To Me!!

Why I hacked my NES/SNES classics. To same I am a retro gaming fan would be an understatement. I don’t have any cool tattoos, but virtually every console of piece of equipment I have ever owned, I wanted to find a way to play my favorite old games. I knew that by now, hunting down old cartridges and pulling out my old consoles was one way, but through emulation, I knew I could get by with pretty close. When the announcement came that an SNES classic was coming, I knew I had to get one. I was fotrunat...
