I soon found out that Manganese Road, which leads to the Pines is seasonal- although pretty packed down by snowmobiles- so we parked at the bottom and walked in. The absence of heat, the shiver when you leave the campfire ring, the glacier wind screaming into your neck, eyes, and ears as you attempt to get the ice off your windshield. The details that catch your eye. November 24, 2011. Is a park in Marquette, and if you’re in town, it’s worth the little detour. Right along Lake Superior, the park has places to swim in the summer and space to soak up the fall. There is also a boardwalk to the lighthouse, a paved looped road, picnic areas, footpaths, and 3.5 and 1.5 km cross country skiing loops. View from picnic area. Presque Isle is a perfect place for a lazy day excursion, which we enjoyed one sunny October afternoon in 2010.

All my flights went smoothly and Fargo was sure a welcome sight as my plane was coming in for the landing. I thought I would notice/ miss the lack of mountains*, but it just felt like home. I have hiked, skied, ran, camped, been rained and snowed on, soaked up the sun, been in awe of the mountains, went to sleep under the northern lights and loved the midnight sun. The details that catch your eye. The North Shore, MN. April 4, 2012. I recently met my friend Jill in Duluth. To take a camping trip. Up the North Shore. And was immediately reminded how beautiful it is up there. Jill heating up water for tea on a gorgeous evening on Paradise Beach, MN. Taking 61 North from Duluth, the city drops away to a wide blue horizon shining through pines and birches on your right. After about an hours drive, we stopped at Split Rock Lighthouse. Big rocks cover much of Pebble Beach.
