Sunday, April 26, 2009. The free clinic is held at a church very close to campus. From 5:30-8pm on Thursday nights there are a few doctors and nurses who volunteer their time to see patients. When I first arrived at the free clinic I saw quite a few people sitting around the waiting room. There were also 3 other interpreters (all current or former Luther students) volunteering their services. Phrases such as, "How can I help you today? And "Does your pain come and go? Put my Spanish into action. I really...

Sunday, January 25, 2009. Sunday, January 18, 2009. Same old song and dance.snow! It is said that the Eskimos have 27 words for snow. And you know what? Snow is a great way to define the winter, in my opinion. Since there are so many different kinds of snow, it is highly unlikely that you are unable to find a type to fit your situation. The snow that accurately describes my J-Term so far would be somewhere in between. The lazy snow that is gracing my view outside. Tuesday, January 13, 2009. And of course...

Norse Notes: Allison: The time, has anyone seen the time?
http://norsenotesallison.blogspot.com/2009/05/time-has-anyone-seen-time.html
Sunday, May 10, 2009. The time, has anyone seen the time? Can someone explain to me how I have less than one week left of classes? I have TWO DAYS of each class left of my first year of college. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I could swear that someone has turned the hands of time ahead on me for a practical joke. Well let me tell you: NOT FUNNY! I feel like this year has disappeared; it's gone too fast. But alas, I'm sure you're not here to listen to me complain about how fast life goes and yaddah. Oh, wh...

Norse Notes: Allison: One last post
http://norsenotesallison.blogspot.com/2009/05/one-last-post.html
Monday, May 18, 2009. This past weekend has been one of my favorites! So college tip #1: take a mini road trip with your friends for some good food one random weekend. It doesn't matter if it's to LaCrosse or Rochester or just to Cresco (it's a small town about 20 miles away) just get in the car and go eat! Saturday was my roommate's birthday, so a bunch of us went out to Rubiayt and had dinner. It was so much fun! College tip #2: don't neglect the downtown! I know you're at college to get an education, ...

Monday, July 6, 2009. Ciao Bella, Ciao Italia. What have I gotten myself into? But we three girls did very well getting around and having a great time. I think I got my art fix for a good while, but more Italian food would not be turned down. Oh the prices you pay to travel lightly. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Hiking La Peña de Francia. Sunday, April 5, 2009. Dancing, singing, and bowls. It is cold and snowy in Decorah, which is good because there was and still is much to do this weekend, and it would be hard to finish everything this weekend carried if I were to be distracted by warm, sunny weather. And, boy, has it been a busy week and especially weekend. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). The Numbers Just Dont Add Up! Dancing, singing, and bowls.

Sunday, November 30, 2008. Analogy: Luther and Thanksgiving dinner. Give me two minutes, and you'll see where I'm going. You take a step back from all of your many scheduled activities and just breathe. Along with this breather comes Thanksgiving Break, which, for many of us first year students, could not have come at a better time. Warm clothes need to be transferred from your home closet to your dorm closet, along with blankets, hats, and mittens. Analogies are always fun :-). Sunday, November 23, 2008.

Friday, September 26, 2008. An Outcome I Can't Believe. Notwithstanding, I decided to run for president (I still don't know where I got the nerves). On Thursday, the election day, I went knocking on every single door in Ylvi, asking for votes (crazy, right? And my friends actually accompanied my in doing this - very kind of them. They even almost made me wear posters around the whole hall saying "VOTE FOR LUWA! Have a great weekend,. Saturday, September 20, 2008. PhewI'm so glad the week is over! Through...

Sunday, April 19, 2009. Hello all. I'm sorry, I guess it has been a while since I updated the ol' blog. So here we go. Easter break was great. I spent time some quality time with my family. I saw my sister kick some major butt in tennis, my older brother was back in town, and we visited my grandparents for the Easter holiday. It was short, but sweet. Last night we had a celebration for four of our friends who had April birthdays. We cooked a. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Dancing, singing, and bowls.
