Sunday, January 25, 2009. Sunday, January 18, 2009. Same old song and dance.snow! It is said that the Eskimos have 27 words for snow. And you know what? Snow is a great way to define the winter, in my opinion. Since there are so many different kinds of snow, it is highly unlikely that you are unable to find a type to fit your situation. The snow that accurately describes my J-Term so far would be somewhere in between. The lazy snow that is gracing my view outside. Tuesday, January 13, 2009. And of course...

Norse Notes: Allison: The time, has anyone seen the time?
http://norsenotesallison.blogspot.com/2009/05/time-has-anyone-seen-time.html
Sunday, May 10, 2009. The time, has anyone seen the time? Can someone explain to me how I have less than one week left of classes? I have TWO DAYS of each class left of my first year of college. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I could swear that someone has turned the hands of time ahead on me for a practical joke. Well let me tell you: NOT FUNNY! I feel like this year has disappeared; it's gone too fast. But alas, I'm sure you're not here to listen to me complain about how fast life goes and yaddah. Oh, wh...

Norse Notes: Allison: One last post

Monday, May 18, 2009. This past weekend has been one of my favorites! So college tip #1: take a mini road trip with your friends for some good food one random weekend. It doesn't matter if it's to LaCrosse or Rochester or just to Cresco (it's a small town about 20 miles away) just get in the car and go eat! Saturday was my roommate's birthday, so a bunch of us went out to Rubiayt and had dinner. It was so much fun! College tip #2: don't neglect the downtown! I know you're at college to get an education, ...

Monday, January 26, 2009. I know, it's a random title. It is referring to President John F. Kennedy's assassination and the theories surrounding it. It's the topic of my research paper for my J-term class. Sorry that this blog is a day late, but all week long every spare moment I had to was devoted to researching JFK and writing what would become a fourteen page paper. This morning I presented my findings to the class with my conclusion on the non-conspiracy/conspiracy debate. While I don't think that I'm.

Sunday, November 30, 2008. Analogy: Luther and Thanksgiving dinner. Give me two minutes, and you'll see where I'm going. You take a step back from all of your many scheduled activities and just breathe. Along with this breather comes Thanksgiving Break, which, for many of us first year students, could not have come at a better time. Warm clothes need to be transferred from your home closet to your dorm closet, along with blankets, hats, and mittens. Analogies are always fun :-). Sunday, November 23, 2008.

Tuesday, May 19, 2009. I just wanted to leave you with a few thoughts for the summer. This year has been absolutely fantastic! Never before have I been truly sad to see summer come! I think last year I was totally relieved to have high school done, but still really nervous and scared for what was to come (all of the unknowns of college! I have great memories from senior year, but I was still ready for something new. Let me tell you, I have definitely found what I was looking for at Luther! Ladies and Gen...

Monday, April 27, 2009. I had an amazing, unschool-related weekend. I went to my roommate's house with my other roommate and two friends last weekend. We rode horses and we went to prom. again. Let me tell you about it. Let's just say, I'm still feeling the consequences. Then it was prom! And then it was back to school. Sunday, April 19, 2009. The Boogie That Be. And it's registration time too! I register on Wednesday and I have all my classes lined up with SOME scheduling conflicts, but nothing I can't ...

Sunday, April 26, 2009. Just another wonderful weekend here at good ol', Luther College! On Friday, my dad came down (my parents here? For my sister's golf tournament. We had a lot of fun, especially since it was in the high 80s! Can you believe it? But, alas, Saturday and Sunday turned in to cold and rainy. Typical Iowa! On Saturday, my uncle came down for a late birthday celebration. The group went to T Bock's, the local burger joint, and we had a great time watching the Mavs game! I know others have c...

Monday, February 23, 2009. A Case of the Mondays. Happy Monday everyone. What a week this has been. Paideia is officially in full force! I'm becoming a pro at deciding whether or not a source is credible enough to use in a research paper! Lucky for me, I chose to watch a movie and analyze whether or not it accurately portrays women in the 1920's in China. So that means I get to watch a movie! Other than that, it looks like winter again! I think everyone should try it at least once! Crazy, I know, but it'...
