Noshing the Nominees: Roots and Blues: A Celebration, by Arnold Adoff

http://noshingthenominees.blogspot.com/2012/03/roots-and-blues-celebration-by-arnold.html

An exploration of the South Carolina Book Award Nominees (SCBAN). Tuesday, March 13, 2012. Roots and Blues: A Celebration, by Arnold Adoff. Is a book of poems and poetic prose which loosely chronicles the history of blues from its earliest origins on slave ships and plantations through more current years. Adoff's writing style is very visual, with words sometimes d r a w n out along the page,. Sharply, and sometimes jumping from one margin to the other. This many words machine-gunned through close air.

http://noshingthenominees.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html

An exploration of the South Carolina Book Award Nominees (SCBAN). Sunday, April 8, 2012. Why should we care about bats? Other than the sheer coolness of a flying mammal- species of which are found on every continent except Antarctica- we should care about bats because they are important to ecosystems the world over. Did you know that bats not only eat insects but that they help to pollinate flowers, spread seeds, and help scientists study ways to help humans? Links to this post. Callie Boone is a girl wi...

Noshing the Nominees: January 2010

http://noshingthenominees.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html

An exploration of the South Carolina Book Award Nominees (SCBAN). Thursday, January 21, 2010. Is a Yiddish word meaning "snack" or "nibble." It is both a noun and a verb. "We are having a nosh. On a bagel yesterday.". Going by that particular definition, I am not really going to be noshing. Which means "devour or gobble.". What am I going to be devouring? My goal is to read every single one of the South Carolina Book Award Nominees for 2010-2011. That list is posted here. Links to this post.

Teens in the 'Brary: Where'd you go?

http://teensinthebrary.blogspot.com/2010/12/whered-you-go.html

Teens in the 'Brary. A blog about library activities for teens. Monday, December 20, 2010. I haven't seen you for almost three weeks! Where have you been? Oh, wait. I'm the one who's supposed to be here. You just visit to see if I have anything brilliant to say. I haven't been feeling particularly brilliant lately. Getting ready for Christmas always seems to take it out of me, even when I don't feel particularly pressured or stressed. I hope you all have a fabulous Christmas (pardon me,.

Teens in the 'Brary. A blog about library activities for teens. Monday, June 25, 2012. Well, dear friends, it looks like we have the same number of entries for different movies, so I'm going to make an executive decision. On Thursday, July 28, we will show. Will have to clean up! Any drinks must, of course, have a lid. Looking forward to seeing you on Thursday! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). http://teensinthebrary.blogspot.com/2010/11/what-great-excuse.html

Teens in the 'Brary. A blog about library activities for teens. Tuesday, November 30, 2010. What a great excuse! Beginning in January, I will be taking a class titled "Young Adult Materials" in Library School. Yes! I will be formally studying past and present YA books! I love reading them, and now I can do so without feeling guilty about all the time I'm not doing something more productive. They're for. After all. I'm so excited! If you're lucky, I might find time to review them all for you!

Teens in the 'Brary: No-Sew T-Shirt Bag!

http://teensinthebrary.blogspot.com/2012/04/no-sew-t-shirt-bag.html

Teens in the 'Brary. A blog about library activities for teens. Wednesday, April 4, 2012. As a Youth Services person in a small-ish branch library, I work with kids of all ages, but really LOVE working with my Teens. Finding activities for them which are cheap, easy, and fast can be a challenge, but this is one craft which ANYONE (with the ability to wield scissors) can do. Cut off the sleeves to the INside of the seam and as much of the neck as you like to get the size opening you want. Tie a firm knot.

Thursday, November 13, 2014. Go out for pizza? Are you kidding me? Okay, I get it, its been a long week, no time or desire to cook. I'll give you that. But, if you have a few minutes to mix together some dough, all you have to do is let it sit for a couple hours before you use it. It's a no-brainer, really. This is what you'll need my brainless:. 1 Tb instant dry yeast. 1 c warm water. Mix the first 3 ingredients until yeast and sugar is dissolved and let sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy. 1 Tb olive oil.

I mean, how do you get a baby? 8221; A little flustered as to how to answer, I wound up telling her that it takes part luck and part biology to make a baby and that she might want to talk to her mom about the specifics. That explained this very topic. As I watch him grow older, quietly but steadily approaching teenagehood with ...
