This outing was up Bessie Butte, which we hadn't done before. Daffy was raring to go! Daffy at the TrailHead ready to go! Up up up the butte. Vista from the top, Broken Top and the Three Sisters. And we knew it was just a matter of time before there was a cuddle. it happened today! Daffy was in her bed.TSK slowly stepped in, Daffy sat up but didn't get out. The trail we took takes you to the summit of Broken Top which we can see from our house. Is an extinct, glacially eroded stratovolcano. Part of the extensive Cascade Range. Located southeast of the Three Sisters. Peaks, the volcano, residing within the Three Sisters Wilderness. Is 20 miles (32 km) west of Bend, Oregon. Be careful up there!

Today we hiked the Tam McArthur Rim trail. Starting at Three Creeks Lakes, at 6500', you can see the ridge line you are about to ascend. It tops out at 7730' elevation. There were plenty of photo ops along the way so get ready to scroll. Here we go. Uhwait a minute, we are going UP there? At one of the many outcroppings.
