Sewing Projects of a Frustrated Sewing Enthusiast. Thrift Store Finds and new Sew Along. June 1, 2014. Hope this past week has been a great one. First off I want to say congratulations to all those that participated in MMM’14. I am in awe of all those that gave that challenge a try, your outfits were wonderful and creative. Check out their group here! The bonus is the proceeds go to our local APA (Animal Protection Association) that sponsors a No-Kill Shelter. A cash donation went into the pot as well.

Quilts I’ve made. Bobbins on my mind – old. Sewing, quilting, occasionally playing with yarn…. Piotr the Polar Bear. This site has now moved to bobbinsonmymind.co.uk. See this post there. Here’s the little fella that got me into crochet in the first place… What an innocent little face! This is Piotr the polar bear, from Edward’s Menagerie, a really excellent book from Toft. There are lots of animals in the book, and as I flicked… Read More Piotr the Polar Bear. June 21, 2015. June 30, 2015. June 20, 2015.

Trackcat: June 2015

Sewing, gardening, travel, family.LIFE! Thursday, June 25, 2015. Ryder's vocabulary has had another big month! I feel like his vocabulary tripled this month. Last month I was thrilled when he learned his colors and some new trucks. This month he's using verbs, pronouns and making sentences! He regularly uses "go," 'try," "like," "have," and "want" now, plus "eat" and "drink.". It took him two years and three months, but he also learned the word "NO." Boy, I could have kept waiting! All different kinds ev...

Trackcat: February 2015
http://trackcat.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Sewing, gardening, travel, family.LIFE! Monday, February 16, 2015. Little miss Vivien is 2 months old now. Not too much has changed- she is still very much in the newborn stage. There's a lot of eating and sleeping going on here. She's up to 10 lbs and 5 oz, a very healthy 2 lb gain in the past month! She is growing out of her newborn clothes, she really only has a couple of newborn items left that fit. So sad! Those eyes are still blue. It was only a matter of time til she fell over. Trackcat: January 2015
http://trackcat.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Sewing, gardening, travel, family.LIFE! Sunday, January 25, 2015. This was Ryder's first full month as a big brother. After Vivien had been around for a week or so, Ryder decided her face was a drum set and would hit it any chance he could. He was still giving her kisses, but hitting was more frequent. Luckily he stopped, cold turkey, one Wednesday and it's been only kisses, hugs and fist bumps since then. We got a new fireplace this past month and Ryder is obsessed with the fire and the candles. He ...

Trackcat: 26 months!
http://trackcat.blogspot.com/2015/05/26-months.html
Sewing, gardening, travel, family.LIFE! Saturday, May 23, 2015. I guess we're going to be sticking with the months for counting, even though it seems weird. Less weird than changing midstream I suppose. After the walk he has a snack and then his nap, which is consistently 2 hours long now, sometimes close to 3! He is still all about drawing, now he adds the wheels to any truck I draw and makes pictures that look truck-ish! He loves his inside chalkboard and was thrilled to learn we have outside chalk too!

Sew Much More: Knit Maxi Dress - Butterick 6330
http://bjsewmuchmore.blogspot.com/2016/08/knit-maxi-dress-butterick-6330.html
A blog devoted primarily to garment sewing - with little splashes of quilting, crafts, and misc. sewing thrown in for variety. Wednesday, August 31, 2016. Knit Maxi Dress - Butterick 6330. I made this dress a couple months, but just now getting it posted. I also want to make the jacket later in the fall. I made a size large, which is bigger than I need. But the fabric is thin and very stretchy, and I didn't want it to cling too much. I'm happy with the fit. I really like it with a black cardigan. Your dr...

Sewing, gardening, travel, family.LIFE! Sunday, October 26, 2014. Ryder has had another big month. I don't know how it's possible, but at some meals Ryder eats as much as I do! He's a skinny little kid, so I don't know where it goes! He also likes to help make his food- mostly he watches now and sprinkles in spices. We've always taught him to be gentle with the cat, so it seems semi-easy to get him to be gentle with us. He has started having mild temper tantrums, but you can usually distract him, luc...

Sew sew sew your boat: No poo update - 2nd month of Water Only
http://sewyourboat.blogspot.com/2015/04/no-poo-update-2nd-month-of-water-only.html
Sew sew sew your boat. A blog about sewing, crafting, and organic living. Sew for a change. Wednesday, April 1, 2015. No poo update - 2nd month of Water Only. What was particularly bad about week 5? My hair felt sooooo dry and brittle! The roots did not feel oily at all and also the tips of my hair felt nice, soft and hydrated. It was the hair in between that was awful. It felt like hay! It was as if the sebum had hardened on the shafts and would no longer be brushed away with the BBB. My advice to anyon...
