Notes from Egypt

Sunday, April 26, 2009. To come your way. I was walking home from the bus stop one day when I noticed a curious number of people outside the Algerian embassy. I thought to myself, “self, that is weird, perhaps something really cool is happening in Algeria and everyone got really excited about getting visas today or Algeria is giving away candy bars.” Logical right? Because the education wasn’t up to par? Because it wasn’t applicable in Algeria? Http:/ www.thedailynewsegypt.com/article.aspx? I am afraid t...

Journeys Far and Wide

Journeys Far and Wide. Monday, July 14, 2014. Two More Countries Off My Checklist. Thursday, my first full day, was spent in the city center. First thing in the morning, I walked to the harbor where there is an outdoor market. Nearby was the Helsinki Cathedral which was quite a sight - brightly white, and a wide and steep stairs to get to the church. The rest of the afternoon was spent taking trams and walking to various venues around the city. Suomenlinna, island fortress near Helsinki. The last day, I ...

Notes from English 3

Notes from English 3. Finally we have conquered this terrible beast of junior year. - Tyler Davis. Friday, June 6, 2008. Stanley's Spring Final Exam. Dear Mr. D. This year has had much reading and writing letters than ever for me. I realized I read about seven books and over twenty literary letters. I must say, even I say I haven’t improved over the year, it’s a lie. Throughout the year, I have grown much as both reader and writer over time. My father killed it! Posted by Tim Delehaunty. Dear Mr. D,.

Notes from Erewhon

Sunday, August 16, 2015. After a summer without regular internet access, what is there to report? That I got more reading done than usual? Watched fewer pointless videos? Stared at my phone instead of my computer screen? All of the above, I guess. Not that I was divorced entirely from internet connection. My work required much computer time, much internet. But home after the day's work, I was struck by how accustomed I'd grown to the sounds of netflix, youtube, even, occasionally, amazon prime. Of course...

Notes from Ethel

Sunday, February 5, 2012. Well, we are still here, and we haven't made any plans to move yet. However, things are definitely happening. I wish I could tell you in detail all that has been going on, but I can't. Just know that God is at work in powerful ways. :). I am becoming more and more excited about college. I accepted at CSU, and they actually gave me a nice scholarship! I should be starting college at the end of August, if all goes as planned. Monday, January 2, 2012. A New Year, with new adventures.
