Notes from Mickey: July 2010
http://notesfrommickey.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
A journey through becoming and being foster parents. July 30, 2010. Gone but not Forgotten. Their Aunt brought them back for a visit, the next week, and so we could give him his presents. DH gave him a race track and I gave him a Teddy bear I made at Build-a-Bear. With a special voice recording just for him. He really liked both his gifts. July 4, 2010. Soon to be three less. I hate to say it but I will probably not miss Sugar Ray. He gives me such a hard time. I know it's his age, but he cries e...Flowe...

A journey through becoming and being foster parents. May 1, 2010. Wrote but forgot to post! As anyone who has read "Notes from Mickey" lately realizes, Princess hasn't said a word in several months. Yesterday, DH called me at work to tell me that Princess was in a really good mood and came up to him, in the kitchen, and said "Mama". DH told her "no, I'm daddy", she said mama again and he said "no, I'm daddy". Then she said "Mom! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. What time is it? Make ...

A journey through becoming and being foster parents. April 19, 2010. As you can tell by the title, one of my worst fears have come true. When we first start the foster care process, I feared having head lice come into our home. Well, it happened last Thursday. I dropped three of the children for a parental visitation and within five minutes, the worker who was supervising the visit, called to tell me they found lice on Sugar Ray's head. GROSS! He was so sweet, he did my hair for me. I didn't like the...

notes from mel – bits and pieces of the yang fam life
Bits and pieces of the yang fam life. February 1, 2015. It’s been a whirlwind kind of weeks these past few weeks. Got sick, got drafted to a new project, turned one year older (yay! 8230; or nay…hehehe). There’s something that’s been on my mind a lot lately… called. Have you heard of it? I accidentally stumbled across the minimalist baker. I even have tons of stuff (The Container Store love) to organize the other stuff I have. I spend time, energy, and money shopping for things, then more time and en...

Friday, May 1, 2009. And Then There's Destruction. We slowly grow in our shells, picking up nutrients from the air, arranging neatly built conspiracies here and there, hoping it will all end soon. Then the destruction comes and it is not pretty: blinding light showers us all in one big fell swoop, and there's nothing. except for the Big Hum. Sunday, September 7, 2008. Tuesday, September 2, 2008. Allen wakes up with photos spread across his desk. Is he still dreaming? Sunday, August 24, 2008. 8230;and as ...

Note Milano
Adventures while studying in Milan Italy! The Last of the Last. Last night was the farewell dinner, also known as the last supper. It wasn't quite as sad for me because I still have 2 more days in Milan. But saying goodbye to a few people was difficult (yes, I'm talking about you Emily). It feels so strange to be here, with the IES program finished (therefore no classes) and so many people I would normally hang out with, gone already! Although I do not think I'll miss my apartment. So before the Finals W...
