I was nervous about my pint-sized mud hut, but after some inspired rearrangements and reorganizations I made it my cozy little cubby in the Sahel. I had a bowlegged dog to bark at the wind and pre-wash the dishes, and a healthy acacia tree that attracted plenty of birds to flirt. In sho...

Notes from Niger: KARATU, FARKON KA MADACI, KARSHENKA ZUMA

http://notesfromniger.blogspot.com/2010/12/karatu-farkon-ka-madaci-karshenka-zuma.html

Sunday, December 19, 2010. KARATU, FARKON KA MADACI, KARSHENKA ZUMA. One volunteer put it well (and comfortingly) this past weekend: “Going to the bush to learn Hausa is like going to the backwoods South to learn English.” Oh, good. 8221; means “alright! 8221; and “ya yi kyau! 8221; means “good! 8221; and I am almost certain, what with the long a’s and emphatic intonation, that it is actually impossible to utter these word without relish. Notes from Niger: Oh, hi!

http://notesfromniger.blogspot.com/2010/11/oh-hi.html

Tuesday, November 9, 2010. Since stepping off the plane into Niger’s “little heat” just over two weeks ago, time has at once slipped by and crawled at a snail’s pace. We are in Niger’s mini hot season, approaching the cold season. This means farmers are finishing up the harvest, the days are hot but the nights are cool, and cool season gardens’ vegetables are coming in. After spending just two nights at the training site having doing the medical and bureaucratic rigmarole, we moved into our host families.

Tuesday, March 10, 2009. Major Persuasive Project (rough draft). See cover letter and brochure in class. Thursday, March 5, 2009. Tuesday, March 3, 2009. It has been more than eight years since someone was put to death in Washington. As we speak, however, the state Department of Corrections prepares for the scheduled March 13th execution of convicted murderer Cal Coburn Brown. We need to unite and put a stop to this before yet another person loses their life to an unjust system. Note: I'm not sure exactl...

Notes From Nigeria

Tidbits Related to the FAITH ALIVE Hospital in Jos, Nigeria. Friday, May 24, 2013. I remember the olden days when I'd send out "I've Moved" postcards. That shows how long it's been since I've moved! Please consider this post to be an "I'm Moving" notice for this blog. It makes sense to blend it with my website, http:/ erikanossokoff.tateauthor.com. It's much easier over there to post comments, so be sure to share your greetings to the extended Faith Alive family. Wednesday, May 15, 2013. I can't control ...

Scandinavian - American Notes by Nina Ø. Saturday, July 21, 2012. Iceland arrests bankers and rewrites constitution. ICELAND: Iceland Dismantles Corrupt Gov’t Then Arrests All Rothschild Bankers. June 18th, 2012. Since the 1900′s the vast majority of the American population has dreamed about saying “NO” to the Unconstitutional, corrupt, Rothschild/Rockefeller banking criminals, but no one has dared to do so. Why? Is that so hard? It has been a revolution without weapons in Iceland, the country that hosts...
