Notes from Shukri | The Voice of Imprisoned Humanitarian Activist Shukri Abu Baker of the HolyLand Foundation
The Voice of Imprisoned Humanitarian Activist Shukri Abu Baker of the HolyLand Foundation. I want to share my thoughts about life and love, pain and joy and purpose. I want to share my hopes and aspirations for a better tomorrow; a future that brings forth. Justice, peace, prosperity and friendship across the globe. I want to explore the truth, embrace it, and share it with anyone willing to listen, learn from it, and act upon it. Is short; I want to tell my story. Response will via the blog discussion.

Jan 17, 2015. New Year.New Hope. On the new year day, I brought my family for a much-needed vacation. Kids have been a week at home (2-week semester break) while my wife is all the time at home.Hihihi. Bring them somewhere is something I already intend to do, eventhough I do not have proper plan yet. I went to Hua Lamphing Railway Station last month and suddenly I feel like taking a train for a ride. So, here we are! Ready for boarding soon. After 4 hours journey, finally we reached our destination.

Notes from Singapore
The life and fun-filled times of expat Iz in Sing. Wednesday, May 21, 2014. Together again - at last. Well, dear readers, the time has come. After almost 7 years of posting, some years more active than others it must be said (and if I don't say it I'm sure that my good friend, the lovely Steve, will mention it), the time has come to say au revoir to Singapore and bonjour to Henley on Thames. Things I will not miss. 2) The price of wine. Things I will miss. 1) The weather. Living in permanent summer h...

Tuesday, February 13, 2018. The Importance Of Routine. But I'm a creative person! Won't all that structure kill inspiration"? I hear you say! Yes we Artists love chaos and drama! Our biggest fears are all about not actualizing that radical creativity in the world. But its usually emotionally driven fear and anxiety about it all that tangles us up and gets in our way! We tend to resist the very thing we want in some invisible but powerful way. PRODUCTIVITY BECOMES A HABIT! Thursday, March 30, 2017. I get ...

Notes From SL
A muttering and a musing while wandering aimlessly through Second Life. Wednesday, June 9, 2010. When men were . err. men. Damn I could have used that sort of money – a cool €8.8 million. That’s the amount European researchers have received for doing an experiment which has be running, albeit haphazardly, for years in SL. The aim of the research: to place males in the bodies of female avatars and find out what they experience. For €8.8 million, I’d even do it again. Links to this post. Take, for example,...

Notes from Smoke Farm
Tuesday, December 11, 2012. A good forest draws one deeper, deeper than one should go, farther from the main road than common sense allows and often with the taint of fear mixed in with all that ones senses can take in. With each step it shows you something new, which makes you take the next, which makes you take the next. I walked to the eastern boundary and turned back in because the forest was not yet done with me. It is a good forest. Posted by Scott Schuldt. Tuesday, November 20, 2012. I reach Silve...

notes from somewhere else
Notes from somewhere else. I woke up this morning to heavy rain outside my window but it actually felt incredibly positive. I continue to feel so grateful for so many things in these moments; my room here, feeling so warm and cozy under these blankets on a bed that not too long ago got lifted off the floor to a proper frame. The precipitation we so desperately need, full freedom granted to be lazy deep into the morning. Today marks two weeks. And making it that much harder to leave. To drink endless coff...

Notes from songs
Thursday, March 11, 2010. I've always been kinda hung up on authenticity and it tends to colour what music I like. I like unusual voices but I turn off if I think the style seems too forced - like the recent procession of bands with crazy/old man vocals. There's something about singing in your normal voice that seems honest and genuine. Something else occurred to me as I listened to the halting, whispering vocals of Doveman. It sounds more interesting anyway. Sunday, January 24, 2010. Normally it seems t...
