Notes from Singapore: On top of the world
http://notesfromsingapore.blogspot.com/2014/02/on-top-of-world.html
The life and fun-filled times of expat Iz in Sing. Sunday, February 16, 2014. On top of the world. Singapore is not short of tall buildings. There are three office buildings in the business district that share the honour of being joint tallest, at 280 metres (or 920 feet) tall. By comparison, the wonderful Marina Bay Sands hotel - the one with the swimming pool shaped like a ship on top) - is a mere two hundred metres, but that's two hundred metres of gorgeousness. Notes from Singapore: Going for gold
http://notesfromsingapore.blogspot.com/2013/02/going-for-gold.html
The life and fun-filled times of expat Iz in Sing. Thursday, February 21, 2013. I'm sure I have written about the Gold Class movie experience in a previous post, but yesterday's film experience deserves a post of its own. For those of you who have not yet done the gold thing in Singapore or elsewhere, think of the difference between flying business class and economy and apply that to your local cinema. It really is the ultimate in movie going. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.
Notes from Singapore: The Singapore dress code
http://notesfromsingapore.blogspot.com/2014/03/the-singapore-dress-code.html
The life and fun-filled times of expat Iz in Sing. Thursday, March 27, 2014. The Singapore dress code. So there I was this morning leaving the apartment on my way to the post office, when I encountered a view that made me wish that I had worn blackout curtains rather than sunglasses. Now, I have committed the odd fashion faux pas in my time, but never a pas as faux as to wear a pair of stilettos longer than the shorts I was wearing them with. Yes, really. What you wear to the supermarket! I like shorts&#...
Notes from Singapore: The last post
http://notesfromsingapore.blogspot.com/2014/05/the-last-post.html
The life and fun-filled times of expat Iz in Sing. Wednesday, May 21, 2014. Together again - at last. Well, dear readers, the time has come. After almost 7 years of posting, some years more active than others it must be said (and if I don't say it I'm sure that my good friend, the lovely Steve, will mention it), the time has come to say au revoir to Singapore and bonjour to Henley on Thames. Things I will not miss. 2) The price of wine. Things I will miss. 1) The weather. Living in permanent summer h...

http://blogfromthebarn.blogspot.com/2007_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 18, 2007. It appears that the hosepipe ban which has been in place during the preceding "wettest six months on record" has finally been lifted. I must get the canoe out tonight and check the sprinklers, should be able to get a week or so of irrigation in before the 2007 drought order kicks in. See previous thoughts on our utility providers. Rain Rain. Posted by Stuffy @ 9:56 am. Links to this post. Sunday, January 14, 2007. Enjoy, or not, as it suits you. Posted by Stuffy @ 10:00 pm.

An aimless wander through the dusty and moth-eaten corridors of a once beautiful mind, alternating between grumpy optimism and cheerful misanthropy. Wildest Surrey, United Kingdom. Monday, October 30, 2006. Saturday is officially deflation day, literal and metaphorical. Off early on Saturday morning in the mud and the gunge for our usual bike ride, a circuit of around 11 miles of bridlepaths and heathland with some tough uphill slogs and a couple of joyful downhill scrambles. Thursday, August 31, 2006. Kids today, don't know what hard work is. I've just finished making a batch of, Stuffy's breakfast starter,. About 8 grapefruit, 15 oranges 20 apples and an inch or two of fresh ginger. delicious, but about 30 minutes chopping and pulping and 30 more cleaning to make about two litres. Natural wholesome goodness, (although I always add a spoonful or two of sugar syrup and some monosodium glutamate to bring out the flavours). Posted by Stuffy @ 7:01 pm. Links to this post. I was ...

Friday, March 23, 2007. A little (micro) light relief. I was invited, a little while ago, to have a play in a microlight by Andy (known in the trade as "blimey that's good, who designed it? I'd hoped that he'd forgottten his generous offer but, just my luck, the sun shone and the phone rang. Naturally I was a little nervous, the last time I looked microlights were about as confidence inspiring a form of transport as a broomstick, however, as with most things they'v. Jan 17, 2015. New Year.New Hope. On the new year day, I brought my family for a much-needed vacation. Kids have been a week at home (2-week semester break) while my wife is all the time at home.Hihihi. Bring them somewhere is something I already intend to do, eventhough I do not have proper plan yet. I went to Hua Lamphing Railway Station last month and suddenly I feel like taking a train for a ride. So, here we are! Ready for boarding soon. After 4 hours journey, finally we reached our destination.

Tuesday, February 13, 2018. The Importance Of Routine. But I'm a creative person! Won't all that structure kill inspiration"? I hear you say! Yes we Artists love chaos and drama! Our biggest fears are all about not actualizing that radical creativity in the world. But its usually emotionally driven fear and anxiety about it all that tangles us up and gets in our way! We tend to resist the very thing we want in some invisible but powerful way. PRODUCTIVITY BECOMES A HABIT! Thursday, March 30, 2017. I get ...

A muttering and a musing while wandering aimlessly through Second Life. Wednesday, June 9, 2010. When men were . err. men. Damn I could have used that sort of money – a cool €8.8 million. That’s the amount European researchers have received for doing an experiment which has be running, albeit haphazardly, for years in SL. The aim of the research: to place males in the bodies of female avatars and find out what they experience. For €8.8 million, I’d even do it again. Links to this post. Take, for example,...

Tuesday, December 11, 2012. A good forest draws one deeper, deeper than one should go, farther from the main road than common sense allows and often with the taint of fear mixed in with all that ones senses can take in. With each step it shows you something new, which makes you take the next, which makes you take the next. I walked to the eastern boundary and turned back in because the forest was not yet done with me. It is a good forest. Posted by Scott Schuldt. Tuesday, November 20, 2012. I reach Silve...
