Notes from the Drain: October 2011
http://notesfromthedrain.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
Friday, October 21, 2011. Recent Attempts to Find Myself. Imaginary cliques abound. Universities, hometowns, corporations and every nation on earth. Each one calls us to identify with some ideal, some set of priorities, some agenda, some history. Outsiders define their own ideals, write their own history, set their own priorities. I said, "I'm looking for Bigfoot.". He said, "I think it's a myth.". So there we both were, hunting for myths. We identified some Bigfootian graffiti. And some tempting clues.
Notes from the Drain: February 2011

Wednesday, February 9, 2011. High above the city of Pacifica, California, the self-professed foggiest city in the world, sits Milagra Ridge, home of decommissioned NIKE missile launch site SF-51L. Here, 400 yards from a young housing development, two cemented-over launch pads for nuclear tipped ground-to-ground missiles are gradually being reclaimed by grass, underbrush.and now, moss. Visit a mossy softness. Links to this post. Wednesday, February 2, 2011. And to my dad and Audrey's family back in Indiana.
Notes from the Drain: December 2009
http://notesfromthedrain.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
Saturday, December 26, 2009. Time gave us a wonderful Christmas present this year: three days off in a row together. We spent the first day downtown sightseeing. The ice skating rinks and glittery lights got us in the mood, but nothing says Christmas like a man snoring loudly in the Macy's furniture department while his wife shops. Walking through the Ferry Building bookstore we found a book of quotes about San Francisco. My favorites:. San Francisco is a golden handcuff with the key thrown away.". Seein...
Notes from the Drain: November 2010
http://notesfromthedrain.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Friday, November 26, 2010. We're In the Butters. After four laps of the Delta arrivals gate at San Francisco International, we received a call from our would be passenger. I'm outside of Terminal One.". Audrey said, "You mean there's more than one terminal here? Terminal One is the departures gate. A quick loop-de-loop and a death-defying lane change later and we were happily distributing hugs and "Welcome to San Francisco"s. Luggage in the trunk, Dad in the front seat and we were on the road. When we pu...
Notes from the Drain: Post Occupied
http://notesfromthedrain.blogspot.com/2012/02/post-occupied_12.html
Sunday, February 12, 2012. What have the Occupy protesters done to manifest change in the world? Audrey and I barely make ends meet. We have both worked since we were children. For entertainment we go on walks. We go to the museum on free day. We read. Before moving out here to California, we bought two shotgun houses in Indianapolis for around $20K each. We intended to fix them up and sell them for a profit. But that didn't work out. Today we're upside down in both. Even if she had possessed the wealth ...

Notes from the Dog Park
Ramblings about life with dogs and dog welfare. Monday, September 5, 2011. A Shelter Dog Finds a Home. At the Mercer County Shelter in Kentucky, Ziggy was known as "Spot," a thin, 3 year old Beagle mix with asymmetrical eyes and long, soft ears, a stray who either got lost or who was dumped. When a dog enters a shelter as a stray and isn't claimed, I figure he's been dumped. Had he been lost, his family could have found him. Labels: adopting a shelter dog. Monday, August 1, 2011. Notes from the Dreamtime
Notes from the Dreamtime. I'd love to give you an idea of what you'll find here. I really would. Alas, my writing veers wildly from Daoism to quantum physics to sex, from the finer points of biblical translation to discussions about psychotropic chemistry and entheogens, from radical politics to pantheism to Carl Jung and Joseph Campbell. Whatever bubbles up from the collective unconscious. I'm also a deeply silly person. Welcome to my strange brain. Take Me to the Dreamtime. The House at Pooh Corner.

St. Claire and The Notes from The Dregs
St Claire and The Notes from The Dregs. Wine, what I'm tasting and what I'm thinking about). Wednesday, 13 January 2016. I like wine. There are some wines that for personal reasons I really like; they might remind me of times gone by, they might just be particularly tasty, but they often seem to fall into the category of wines that are on sodding allocation. Apologise, I couldn’t get any more, how about this fabulous Tassie example? Have I really turned into Comic Book Guy from the Simpsons? Anyway all t...

Notes from the driving seat
Notes from the driving seat. A Journey of a Woman Driver. Tuesday, 6 January 2015. Well, I have got my word count done - 6,100 in total so far. It is frustrating that the writing is bad and every time I think I have got the structure sorted, I read it through and it just doesn't work. The first draft of the first three chapters consisted of blog posts and tweets, this one has started just as blog posts but I think even that I will probably drop. Day one round up. The chapter I was writing yesterday and w...
