Notes From the Open Road. Travels with a Camera. March 29, 2014. February 8, 2016. The weather here in the Puget Sound has been dreary and wet to say the least. Yes, the calendar says we’re in spring but it feels like winter…and my wife and I have been dreaming of summer or at least warm sunshine. It has been pouring on and off all day with the temperature stopping at a cool 50F. Nothing to be excited about. Floating market merchant Willemstad, Curaçao. Reflections on the Stillaguamish River.

Old Locomotive Dreams | Notes From the Open Road
http://notesfromtheopenroad.com/2014/04/03/old-locomotive-dreams
Notes From the Open Road. Travels with a Camera. April 3, 2014. February 8, 2016. When I returned to Poland as a tourist it was to my great disappointment to find all the steamers decommissioned and replaced by diesel engines. Years later, in the early 2000s, the majority of what remained in Poland of the old locos was scrapped and destroyed. Progress? How about preservation for history? On that note, I go nutty when I see one of these enormous locomotives still standing. Choo, choo, chooooo!
