From New Mexico’s high desert to North Dakota’s western badlands and then Alaska’s picture-perfect mountains, it’s been an exhausting and beautiful summer of work-related travel. Mom would get everything changed around before we came home. Lost track of how many times I came home from school and walked into, or tripped over, something that wasn't there when I left that morning. Sometimes, if it was one of Mom's major over hauls. My brother and I would sort of feel like we had come home to the wrong house.
