Red Hatchet Films: October 2006
http://redhatchetfilms.blogspot.com/2006_10_01_archive.html
The animated world of Michael Granberry. Sunday, October 29, 2006. Georgie's Wish" Part Final. At long last, here's my much-delayed final report on. Featuring what may be my favorite character in the film: The WATCHDOG! Animals are always a challenge, though I have to say I'm pretty proud of how this one turned out. Instead of recycling him, Watchdog now resides in my stop-motion shrine of coolness, where he guards the loot and drives away any pesky cat-burglars. Posted by Michael Granberry at 6:47 PM.

Notes from Halfland: Don't Fence Me In
http://notesfromhalfland.blogspot.com/2015/05/dont-fence-me-in.html
Saturday, May 09, 2015. Don't Fence Me In. Had some hand-made paper flowers that weren't up to quality to use at the 1/3 scale main set size. So I flashed on how I could duplicate the fence at smaller scale(s) quite quickly and use them on those to help fill in areas of landscape logic when shooting upcoming scenes. Above you see a portion of the main set foreground fence line, a length of it reduced by 46% or so and another, much smaller to be used on the backdrop to suggest fencing very far away. Serpe...

Catch up on the Kyra puppet making techniques, first the Nova Color Flex gel (a thicker, glossy version of my beloved Nova Color Matte medium) is layered with plant fiber paper from Japan directly into the mold of the small scale mermaid character. The metal mesh makes her entire tail and fin poseable for smooth stop motion unfurling and swishing. The book is filled with extraordinary images that the important film director recorded while living with t...

The animated world of Michael Granberry. Thursday, May 25, 2006. The Gwombi Clan re-invade Red Hatchet. A few weeks ago I blogged about. Drawing some interest but not being able to say anything about it. While that's still the case for the most part, I can say that I've had to totally neglect. For the last week because I've been creating a promotional trailer for. Going back and looking at the. Posted by Michael Granberry at 2:39 PM. Links to this post. Monday, May 15, 2006. And Bingo was his name-o. Monday, May 22, 2006. Is it time to jump on the blog band wagon? Or the band blog wagon? Mostly I started this to be able to post comments on some other blogs and have a really cool avatar - Ha! Perhaps soon I will put up some artwork or stop motion animation stuff I have been working on. But for now how about an interesting web site I have come across that I thought everyone might appreciate. If it's creative, clever, original or fun then I dig it! I ran across this.

Thursday, April 30, 2015. Why, look who's making his first real appearance in the making me department. It's Urhu, the serpent sage musician. In a Halfland speed record breaking performance, his armature and body build-up was made one night, his costume design decided, his head sculpted the next day, and the day after that (today) a new type of mold-material was used to successfully mold that sculpt. Tuesday, April 28, 2015. Saw a piece of dried grass woven into a real world spider web out back (upper le...

Friday, May 09, 2014. A black caterpillar tries to grab the whole leaf tray full of pollen-frosted cupcakes from the grasshopper waiter at the bug party. Thursday, May 08, 2014. From a Letter to a Former Husband. My second husband is a former teacher of English Composition (hope he didn't want to correct my grammar too much), a voracious reader, and one of the courageous men working hard to recover from the aftermath of a stroke several years ago.
