Notes from Halfland: February 2015
http://notesfromhalfland.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Thursday, February 26, 2015. Rana Photoshoot: Soup Tasting. A spoon carving prompted a preliminary camera test of Rana. I like how cinematic she looks. There's more surface texture on her face than I intended but it may be alright as it makes the whole movie looks for sure 'handmade' and slightly less in the creepy canyon. Notes from Halfland: The 50th (and Final?) Party Bug!
http://notesfromhalfland.blogspot.com/2015/08/the-50th-and-final-party-bug.html
Thursday, August 06, 2015. The 50th (and Final? I have been making bug puppets in-between other larger puppets, kind of like little palate cleansers. This fellow started by a preserved leaf that became his body, twigs that became his legs by wiring into a foam body. His beak is a stem, his eyes are tiny natural seeds. He's bringing festive flowers to the wildly fun gathering. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). The most fun I could ever imagine is being made right in my house. Thank you for stopping by!
Notes from Halfland: Don't Fence Me In
http://notesfromhalfland.blogspot.com/2015/05/dont-fence-me-in.html
Saturday, May 09, 2015. Don't Fence Me In. Had some hand-made paper flowers that weren't up to quality to use at the 1/3 scale main set size. So I flashed on how I could duplicate the fence at smaller scale(s) quite quickly and use them on those to help fill in areas of landscape logic when shooting upcoming scenes. Above you see a portion of the main set foreground fence line, a length of it reduced by 46% or so and another, much smaller to be used on the backdrop to suggest fencing very far away. Serpe...

Castlegardener's animated life. My adventures in stopmotion animation. Who is the Castlegardener? Miniature castle part 8 I think. April 23, 2015. I added another tower on the side of the cliff. It is just wood pieces. It was installed then patched with caulking where it joined the cliff face. Now watch as I carefully wave over the surface with a micro butane torch. Here is another little note for you. Things don’t have to be perfect for you to create. You don’t need the perfect tools...That is another r...

Castlegardener's animated life. My adventures in stopmotion animation. Who is the Castlegardener? Miniature castle part 8 I think. Finally finished miniature castle set →. April 24, 2015. Dear wife saw the guard tower, and asked “how does the guard get down there? So, I had to make some stairs down to it. I cut two “stringers” which are the side supports just like real stairs are cut. Then I placed tiny treads in place with glue. I had to place a few, let them dry, then place some more. Once the frame wa...

Castlegardener's animated life. My adventures in stopmotion animation. Who is the Castlegardener? Set tear down →. Finally finished miniature castle set. May 16, 2015. I took some photos of the miniature castle set the other night. I took some in the daylight but got too much white glare. So, I took some at night but it was too dark. Then I found a yellow light bulb and took some more. It took about 15 minutes or so, no big deal for a single frame. Here are a few more images. Waiting for a dragon. With a...

The animated world of Michael Granberry. Sunday, October 29, 2006. Georgie's Wish" Part Final. At long last, here's my much-delayed final report on. Featuring what may be my favorite character in the film: The WATCHDOG! Animals are always a challenge, though I have to say I'm pretty proud of how this one turned out. Instead of recycling him, Watchdog now resides in my stop-motion shrine of coolness, where he guards the loot and drives away any pesky cat-burglars. Posted by Michael Granberry at 6:47 PM.

Friday, February 09, 2018. My, My, Look At The Time! A whole year has passed and the time was chocked full of cat care, Youtube videos, ballet classes, and major home renovation here. Exactly a year ago, by several acts of God, Paul and I were able to buy the house we had been renting for five years (saving us from another move, thankfully). And the journey/transformation from lifelong renter to homeowner has been profound. We added a floor of storage to the top of the building when a secret attic was di...

A homemaker's place to muse and enthuse. Tricks up my sleeve: cleaning out the house. Today I decide to ignore the irony of writing about cleaning out when I couldn’t feel. Now, I plan to post as we work our way through various cleaning out and organizing projects, but without further ado, here are just a couple of general tricks up my sleeve for saving money, clearing out clutter, and living a little bit simpler.
