Ja mata Ishinomaki | Ishinomaki as Independant Volunteers
https://ishinomakiwithpeaceboat.wordpress.com/2011/05/30/goodbye-ishinomaki
Ishinomaki as Independant Volunteers. Two gaijin trying to do our bit to help the people of Ishinomaki. May 30, 2011. Saturday was a sad morning. It has taken me this long to be able to write the blog. Saying our farewells to the team, and the very special people we met in Ishinomaki was always going to be hard, but watching the bus pull away without us, and the boys heading off for another days work, was tough. Chu is in Ishinomaki for the long haul, so if you get there drop in and buy him a beer for me.

https://facesofjapan.wordpress.com/2012/07/01/noda-san-yamerou-demo-shinjuku-july-1st-2012
A photo-blog for those in love with life. July 1, 2012. 8220;Noda-san, Yamerou” Demo: Shinjuku, July 1st, 2012. From NHK World, with excellent film footage of the hulllabaloo. Those who could not make it to Fukui Prefecture today protested in Shinjuku and Yokohama. Neither location is close for me, but I got myself onto the Odakyu Romance Car and made it to Shinjuku’s Chuo Koen in spite of the rain and my father-in-law’s disapproving looks. Here are a few of the photos I got…. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.
Umi no Hi Demo: Yoyogi Park | Faces of Japan
https://facesofjapan.wordpress.com/2012/07/16/umi-no-hi-demo-yoyogi-park
A photo-blog for those in love with life. July 16, 2012. Umi no Hi Demo: Yoyogi Park. The first photos are taken from the starting point of the parade. News reports said 170,000 people in total, but that report was making the rounds even before Sumire and I arrived on the scene. So the figure should be at least 170,002, right? Why do the cars get the entire street and we’re squeezed into this narrow space along the road? Would the government listen then? 8221; Others would wonder back, “what if? SAYANORA...

https://ishinomakiwithpeaceboat.wordpress.com/2011/05/23/making-a-difference-doing-real-work-to-help-real-people
Ishinomaki as Independant Volunteers. Two gaijin trying to do our bit to help the people of Ishinomaki. May 23, 2011. Making a difference – doing real work to help real people. Today was a watershed in many ways. Characters came into focus, real work was done, and the whole situation in Ishinomaki gained a little more focus. During all of this, and probably because of it, we came to the firm belief that the decision to part company with peace boat was a good one. Our crew for the day was 12, included the...
The 72 Hour Kit: EDC 2.0
http://ajax72.blogspot.com/2012/12/edc-20.html
The 72 Hour Kit. Planning ahead does not have to be a way of life. Wednesday, December 5, 2012. I've been drooling over a Skinth. For half a year now, and unfortunately it now looks like it'll be even longer until I can get one. Why so, you ask, no doubt. Well, I happened to stumble across one of Leatherman's sheaths for a price simply too low to pass by. I'm sorry Skinth, I didn't mean to, it just happened. My upgraded EDC now centres around the Leatherman Premium Nylon Sheath I. The Canadian government...

Go to East Mia. Have you Googled your name recently? Yes, recently I have added a lot of roles/work to my life, so I thought it was time to do a clean sweep of my online presence. So naturally I googled my name as I have done on many occasions. It is a necessary evil of the Internet of Things. You have to make sure your name isn’t being used on stuff that’s not you! It’s really important to check your images, as well, make sure your images aren’t being used by someone who isn’t YOU. Posted in My STUDIO.

Friday, February 09, 2018. My, My, Look At The Time! A whole year has passed and the time was chocked full of cat care, Youtube videos, ballet classes, and major home renovation here. Exactly a year ago, by several acts of God, Paul and I were able to buy the house we had been renting for five years (saving us from another move, thankfully). And the journey/transformation from lifelong renter to homeowner has been profound. We added a floor of storage to the top of the building when a secret attic was di...

Notes from Hard Times. Notes, not intended to appease or offend you. but in case, if it does.then there might be definitely something appeasing or offensive about you. Wednesday, 1 April 2009. Recession of Fourth (Real) Estate. About Dubai. The latest trend is now Dubai-bashing. And they spend their Times on it. But how does it do it? Or, in another word, how should the media focus and handle these issues? Not definitely the way, Times do. And New York Times. And authors like Christopher Davidson. The sh...

April 30, 2014. 34 Year Olds Can Have Temper Tantrums Too! At Least I Have Rock of Ages and Wine. The last couple of weeks have been full of ups and downs. Last week I had a full-on, three-year-old-style temper tantrum. I couldn't find my keys. Now typically I put them in the same place.always.to avoid self-induced trauma. But I obviously hadn't done that. So, instead, I looked in my purse. Now I was pretty sure I could hear them in my purse- jangling to mock me- -but couldn't find them. Stuff a Saturday...
