Yet through my open windows come the beats and cheering crowds of the pride festival, a few blocks away. And there's president Obama - in his elegance. And I think - these things are not in a void. Apparently, 58% of the pedestrians who died on New Year's Day from 1986 until 2002 had high blood alcohol concentrations.
