Stumbling through post-30s fatherhood and socially acceptable maturity.one oblivious step at a time. Sunday, August 2, 2015. Shark Attack, Baby! 8220;The oldest and strongest emotion of mankind is fear…and the oldest and strongest kind of fear is fear of the unknown.”. 8211; H.P. Lovecraft. Our yearly summer vacation was nearly at hand. A full week of surf, sun, and sand at Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. It’s an event that our family looks forward to every year. No worries of work, school, or schedules.

Next Stop: Dadhood: June 2014
http://nextstopdadhood.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
Stumbling through post-30s fatherhood and socially acceptable maturity.one oblivious step at a time. Thursday, June 12, 2014. Math was never my strong suit. That’s putting it politely. Seeing a long equation on a chalkboard registers roughly the same in my mind as one of those speed-reading pharmaceutical announcers reciting their drug’s horrendous side effects in Mandarin Chinese. My mind’s wired to simply shut itself down and looks for the closest escape route. The classic flight response. Much like fa...

Landon's Love: August 2010
http://landonslove.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
Edenbrook Farm Therapy Program Radio Interview Featuring Landon! Edenbrook Farm Therapy Program Radio Interview. Some days are much more difficult than others. I Blessed are those who stop and listen to my chatter. You may not understand me; but I love when people talk to me, for I long for companionship, too. III Blessed are those who take the time to tell me about special happenings, for unless you make special effort to inform me, I remain ignorant. IX Blessed are those who think of me as a person who...

Next Stop: Dadhood: March 2013
http://nextstopdadhood.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html
Stumbling through post-30s fatherhood and socially acceptable maturity.one oblivious step at a time. Sunday, March 10, 2013. The More Things Change. Coming back from a family vacation a few weeks back, our route home took us past my alma mater. Although I have tried on many occasions to make it back with my family for one of the alumni weekends over the years, the opportunities always seemed to be trumped by one of our kid’s numerous weekend activities. New and updated buildings and restaurants and the r...

Next Stop: Dadhood: I Guess This is Growing Up
http://nextstopdadhood.blogspot.com/2014/03/i-guess-this-is-growing-up.html
Stumbling through post-30s fatherhood and socially acceptable maturity.one oblivious step at a time. Monday, March 3, 2014. I Guess This is Growing Up. My wife and I have always made it a point to raise our children around an environment filled with music. Be it having a variety of instruments lying around the house for them to experiment on or simply just having the TV off and the radio on for the better part of the day. Some days it may be a little country, others a little Christian or Top 40. Whether ...

Next Stop: Dadhood: May 2013
http://nextstopdadhood.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
Stumbling through post-30s fatherhood and socially acceptable maturity.one oblivious step at a time. Wednesday, May 8, 2013. For Christmas this past year, my youngest daughter received a kid’s easel as a gift. It was the perfect gift that allowed her to do two of her most favorite things in the world, draw and paint. When she unwrapped it though, she made a face and seemed as though she didn’t like it. Thinking that she didn’t quite understand what it was, I tried to open the box to show her. It was thos...

Stumbling through post-30s fatherhood and socially acceptable maturity.one oblivious step at a time. Tuesday, August 19, 2014. It’s really amazing to look my kids’ toys today as opposed to those of my generation in the late 1970s and early 80s. On the plus side, today’s toys are so much more incredibly intricate and portable. However, they also require an endless amount of batteries or require a power source or charging of some kind. An overload of lights, LED screens, and noises. That was pretty mind-bl...

Next Stop: Dadhood: Parlez-vous Parfait?
http://nextstopdadhood.blogspot.com/2014/10/parlez-vous-parfait.html
Stumbling through post-30s fatherhood and socially acceptable maturity.one oblivious step at a time. Thursday, October 30, 2014. As my kids continue to grow and thrive, I have noticed that some of that “me” time that I used to enjoy has become harder and harder to acquire. You know, that twenty or thirty minutes of absolute solitude where you can accomplish one or two of those personal necessities for your sanity. Really, I’m not complaining. You get the idea and likely know the drill all-too-well. Speak...

Landon's Love: July 2012
http://landonslove.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
We had a genetics appointment yesterday. We haven't been since last March, so we just wanted to check in, but also wanted to check on Dr. T's concern regarding some Marfan Syndrome characteristics he noticed in L's 7 year appointment. Dr W determined that L does NOT have Marfan Syndrome,. However, he did say that he has marfanoid habitus,. Which essentially is a very fancy term for "tall and lanky.". Shaun's a genius, I tell ya! So, here it is.or will be. Thank you for all of the feedback and suggestions!
