Sunday, September 6, 2009. I made it to the top! Richard and I and Kent and Denna Barton( Richards brother and his wife) hiked to the top of MT. Timpanogas. It is a 16 mile hike round trip. We started at the trail head at 4:00am and got to the top at 8:40 and got back down around 1:20 pm. Wow what a view from the top! I just can't believe that I made it! On November 18, 1956 a group of ball players from the Old Timers Sunday Softball League felt they must eventually give in to “Father Time”. They organized what is now known as the Old Timers Athletic Club of Racine. This Club was organized to promote a spirit of cooperation among the members, with particular interest on promotion of juvenile sports. To raise funds for their promotions, the Old Timers Athletic Club has a slow-pitch tournament which runs for two weekends in July.
