Wednesday, February 29, 2012. Oma’s Pages #36. Opa and I had to take turns working in the kitchen we had because it was so small, so we really needed a new place to live. If I baked something in the oven I had to put whatever it was on the floor in the living room when I took it out of the oven because there was no place else to set it. I stood in the bare empty unfinished living room, opened the window, and looked across the canal to the City of Groningen and felt like I had a home. Oma’s Pages #35.

Thursday, May 31, 2012. Oma’s Pages #41. Something else we had to have was another refrigerator. Most of the people here have refrigerators that are much smaller than what we have in the US. The frig that came with the apartment is inside of a kitchen cupboard and it is very tiny. The freezer part is only four inches high. You can see it is not too tall because of where the handle for the window is on the right side of the frig, and the microwave is on top of it and the cupboard frig is to the left.

JJ used his hotel points to book a room that had a kitchen so we took our own food, the hotel had free breakfast. so the whole trip only cost $15 dollars to get into the park, what a bargain! We went on a not too strenuous hike that had a nice waterfall at the end. Bryson enjoying the very comfy fold out bed at the hotel. Cute pictures of the gang!
