Father’s Day 2015. I’m sitting in the passenger seat while my husband drives us to a Father’s Day/birthday party. My heart hurts for my husband, for many reasons. In May, we celebrated our own mothers the day before Mother’s day. We decided to leave Sunday open for Jake and I to spend time at the cemetery with our daughter. I didn’t have to go to a big celebration of something that I no longer wanted to celebrate. This is why my heart hurts for my husband. This is a process. For many groups of men today.
