Flatpoint MBA: The Big Day
http://flatpointmba.blogspot.com/2007/05/big-day.html
Q What does V-I-C-T-O-R-Y spell? Sunday, May 27, 2007. Well, tomorrow's the big day. We've had a number of activities leading up to commencement. I wasn't able to attend all of them, but I did make it to the class dinner and after-party. A lot of people made toasts at the dinner. One guy from the Gold cohort started his toast by saying, "Will members of the best cohort please stand up? Furniture sitting in storage for the last two years is on its way from San Francisco to my new apartment in New York.

Flatpoint MBA: SOM Secret Society?
http://flatpointmba.blogspot.com/2007/05/som-secret-society_21.html
Q What does V-I-C-T-O-R-Y spell? Monday, May 21, 2007. Rumor has it that a group of students is trying to form a secret society at SOM. My only question is, Why? There seems to be no purpose. Hopefully, this remains a rumor. Hopefully, the people involved will realize that this isn’t a good idea . . . or at least explain why they feel that a secret society is necessary. Who knows? There may be a very good reason for it. I doubt it, but maybe. Posted by Jerry Blank at 9:19 PM. California, United States.

Flatpoint MBA: The Class of 2009
http://flatpointmba.blogspot.com/2007/05/class-of-2009.html
Q What does V-I-C-T-O-R-Y spell? Monday, May 21, 2007. The Class of 2009. Some stats on the Class of 2009:. The acceptance rate isn’t adjusted for last year’s deferrals and is likely to go up to 15% after Round 3. In short, this was a very competitive year and gaining admission was difficult. To those of you who made it, Congrats! To those of you who didn’t, don’t feel too bad. It was tougher than it’s ever been. Posted by Jerry Blank at 9:20 PM. This could be of help. Flatpoint MBA: February 2005
http://flatpointmba.blogspot.com/2005_02_01_archive.html
Q What does V-I-C-T-O-R-Y spell? Sunday, February 27, 2005. Better . . . I got an A- on my midterm. Not bad, but not what I was hoping for. Fortunately, this midterm was only 25% of my grade. In other news, I should be getting my performance review at work sometime this week. I'm confident that I'll be receiving a salary increase. What I'm hoping for is a titular promotion. I'll have to see how this plays out before sending an update to Yale. Posted by Jerry Blank at 12:28 PM. Thursday, February 24, 2005.

Flatpoint MBA: October 2005
http://flatpointmba.blogspot.com/2005_10_01_archive.html
Q What does V-I-C-T-O-R-Y spell? Wednesday, October 26, 2005. Midterms ended last Friday. The results are in and the news is positive. I need to work doubly hard in two classes if I want to guarantee a strong finish. Otherwise, proficient all around. And, as we say here at SOM, proficient is sufficient. Points nearly every time. I hope the TAs are a little more generous with me come finals. LOL. Posted by Jerry Blank at 2:26 PM. Monday, October 17, 2005. One Down, Four To Go. I devoted all of my time the...

Flatpoint MBA: April 2005
http://flatpointmba.blogspot.com/2005_04_01_archive.html
Q What does V-I-C-T-O-R-Y spell? Monday, April 25, 2005. Two weeks left until Harvard notifies its Round 3 applicants and - SHOCK! No invitation to interview. My essays were good. Sometimes even inspired. But there was nothing I could do to change my stats. My age, undergraduate GPA, and gender, in particular. I might have been able to get away with it in Round 1 or Round 2, but not in Round 3. What more can I say? It is as I expected. Utterly predictable. Posted by Jerry Blank at 7:11 PM. Flatpoint MBA: Commencement
http://flatpointmba.blogspot.com/2007/05/commencement.html
Q What does V-I-C-T-O-R-Y spell? Thursday, May 31, 2007. On Monday, May 28th, I graduated. It was Yale’s 306th commencement and the School of Management’s 30th. There were two separate ceremonies. Later that night, I spent some time with some of my nearest and dearest friends from SOM. The second ceremony was considerably less formal. It was sweeter, more intimate; a great way to end two years of hard work, to be with your friends and to celebrate their accomplishments. I’m so proud of us! Hey there, I f...

Flatpoint MBA: May 2005
http://flatpointmba.blogspot.com/2005_05_01_archive.html
Q What does V-I-C-T-O-R-Y spell? Monday, May 30, 2005. Found a place to live 5 minutes away from campus. Rent: $340. That's right, folks. I'll be sharing a newly renovated, fully furnished 2-bedroom apartment with air conditioning, high-speed internet access, laundry in building, etc., for $340 per month. Why is this exciting? I don't think my apartment in New Haven will compare to what I'm leaving behind. (I took the place sight unseen.) But for $340 per month, who cares? Posted by Jerry Blank at 3:07 PM.

Flatpoint MBA: The Beginning Of The End
http://flatpointmba.blogspot.com/2007/05/beginning-of-end.html
Q What does V-I-C-T-O-R-Y spell? Tuesday, May 08, 2007. The Beginning Of The End. The Dean sent a very nice email today to the Class of 2007, far more personal than the letter he wrote for the yearbook. I've included it here. It's quite long. Consider yourself warned. :-). To the Yale School of Management Class of 2007:. We will certainly see much of one another as Commencement approaches. However, I wanted to take this opportunity to wish you good luck on your final papers and exams, and even more, ...
