Fruit picking at Bilpin – apples and plums | Hoglet K
https://hogletk.wordpress.com/2013/03/16/fruit-picking-at-bilpin-apples-and-plums
Fruit picking at Bilpin – apples and plums. Crisp, sweet baby apples are one of autumn’s greatest pleasures. And they’re even fresher if you pick them yourself. We’ve picked apples in Bilpin before. Orchard. This time we tried Pine Crest. Orchard across the road. Both orchards are frequented by families and the occasional tourist bus. The competition between them doesn’t seem to be too fierce, because the farmer we met was joking about which orchard was tidier. We ate almost all of our fruit fresh rather...

Ginger’s Coffee Studio | Hoglet K

Ginger’s Coffee Studio. Remember those orange vinyl chairs that your grandparents relegated to the back verandah because they were too loud for a modern kitchen? Or the warty green glass vase in the china cabinet? You know the one, nestling near the sugar pot decorated with geometric orange and brown fruit. These are the items you’ll need when you start your vintage lounge bar and coffee studio. But it has a good texture. Out of 5 snorts). Ginger’s Coffeee Studio. Gluten Free Apple Bun. Foodie Dice →.

Quick & Easy Recipes. Where in the world? Quick & Easy Recipes. Where in the world? Whoopie Pies – Chocolate and Vanilla Buttercream. Whoopie Pies – Chocolate and Vanilla Buttercream. August 1, 2011. I’ll admit it right now. I am not very good at taking orders from people, especially when it comes to food. My eyebrows furrow and my toes curl up when I hear a command. The kitchen is the one place that I want complete control and complete freedom to do what I please. I’ll make that! 8220;Oh… cool! 1/ Posit...

The Littlest Anchovy: Buttermilk Panna Cotta with Mulberries Poached in Red Vermouth and Honey.

Friday, 29 November 2013. Buttermilk Panna Cotta with Mulberries Poached in Red Vermouth and Honey. I have a question: do kids today still keep silkworms as pets? I remember my first batch as if it were yesterday. For one dollar, I received twelve delicate white grubs, a bag of mulberry leaves for them to munch on, and a shoebox with holes poked in the top – for shelter and ease of transport. As a 6 year old, I was preoccupied with important things like. A year or so later my family moved to a house that...

Hector’s on the Wharf | Hoglet K
https://hogletk.wordpress.com/2012/08/05/hectors-on-the-wharf
Hector’s on the Wharf. The countryside around Adelaide is dotted with little towns that were transport hubs in South Australia’s early days. There are ports on the gulf and on the Murray. Not to mention the innumerable railway towns, many of which carried agricultural produce or mining products to the Murray or the Gulf of St Vincent for shipping before the rail connection to Adelaide was completed. To Victor Harbor, or simply enjoy a leisurely lunch. Hector’s on the Wharf. Hector’s is a nice spot ...

Cardamon Coffee Cake | Hoglet K
https://hogletk.wordpress.com/2011/10/06/cardamon-coffee-cake
Or even the pork pies from the Famous Five (in spite of your mother saying, “they’re horribly greasy in the real world”)? The Cardamon Coffee cake lives up to its description. It is rich and moist and fragrant with spices. I decided to put the nut mixture on top of the cake rather than layered in the middle, which gives it a crunchy top. I also adapted the recipe to use gluten free self raising flour, which was sent to me by the kind people at Vitarium. 1 cup brown sugar (packed). 2 tsp ground cardamon.

Picking mandarins at Wisemans Ferry | Hoglet K
https://hogletk.wordpress.com/2014/08/04/picking-mandarins-at-wisemans-ferry
Picking mandarins at Wisemans Ferry. Picking your own fruit is one of life’s great pleasures, but up until now I didn’t know you could do it in winter. I thought the season ended in April when the frost starts and the last apples at Bilpin are picked. Happily you can pick fruit later in the year because winter is citrus season and there are pick your own citrus farms a few hours Sydney. The Hawkesbury River at Wiseman’s ferry. Unlike picking apples, you use scissors to pick mandarins so that you don̵...

egglove: February 2013
http://egglove.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
Saturday, February 9, 2013. Recipe courtesy of the Savory Table. To make the basic recipe all you really need are the tomatoes, egg, salt and pepper, but I have dolled mine up with cheese and chopped green onion. Of course this is a deviation from the classic recipe. But that's how I roll. Salt and Pepper to taste. 1/4 cup shredded Mexican blend cheese (you can also use cojita, queso fresco, feta or any other favorite cheese you choose). Chopped green onion or chopped cilantro to garnish. For a medium do...

I must say I’m a little disappointed with the serviced apartment I’d booked for the next 5 nights. Boss says the staff usually stay at The Crown (at Burswood Casino) – however due to the Perth International Festival, all hotel rooms were at least $400-500 per night! Posted in Friends and Family.
