We did it for the Chooks!: White stuff!
http://forthechooks.blogspot.com/2015/07/white-stuff.html
We did it for the Chooks! Monday, July 13, 2015. The most amazing hail storm hovered over us on Saturday. It could have been snow, but it would have hurt to stand under it for sure - given the noise on the tin roof. The hail went in to the gutters, down the pipes and clogged-up the inlet for the water tank. It gushed out all down the side, and this pile of ice even hung around through the next day as well. The hugel bed was drenched, but it held the water from running down the hill. Perfect! It's been ra...

We did it for the Chooks! Sunday, August 23, 2015. The hugel bed is growing nicely with all the rain. The asparagus plants are poking their heads up asking "Is it Spring yet? The almond trees certainly know it's warming up. They're blooming like crazy and look really happy after the permie group pruned them. The bees are humming away up there happily, and the old flowering broccoli is yesterdays news. Don't forget, you can click on the pictures to get a bigger view. :). Tuesday, August 18, 2015. We did it for the Chooks!: Tree planting at home
http://forthechooks.blogspot.com/2015/08/tree-planting-at-home.html
We did it for the Chooks! Tuesday, August 18, 2015. Tree planting at home. The other day, we went to a clearing sale that was a bit of a bust, then the next day we went to a poultry auction, which was also a bust. I think something is telling us we should just stay home! So, on the way back we stopped in to the nursery and brought home 12 tubestock trees. Today we got stuck into planting them all. It's much more productive staying at home. :). Simply by the Beach: Pressure and pleasure.
http://simplybythebeach.blogspot.com/2016/10/pressure-and-pleasure.html
Wednesday, 19 October 2016. On my window sill. attempting to propagate rosemary and waiting for my pineapple top to sprout some roots. Turmeric Paste for Golden Milk. An egg from each of my girls. The best book I have read in a while. Bunches of Kale on my bench. Fluro orange pumpkin from my garden. The beetroots that turned into relish. The view from my living room today. I am 'weeding' out perfectly good stuff it feels. Mostly tomatoes and pumpkin I think, there are soooo many! Hard going isn't it.

Simply by the Beach: Seed Saving - Zucchini
http://simplybythebeach.blogspot.com/2016/01/seed-saving-zucchini.html
Tuesday, 19 January 2016. Seed Saving - Zucchini. I begin my first seed saving post with a reminder I am not an expert! This is my first attempt at seed saving and everything I have learnt is from reading lots of books and researching from lots of different web pages as well as any good advice I have received. I have dabbled in gardening for the last 5 or so years, but am sure I have it in my blood as both my Nana's are extraordinary gardeners! Slice it in half and have a look at all those glorious seeds!

Simply by the Beach: Beyond busy!
http://simplybythebeach.blogspot.com/2016/07/beyond-busy.html
Saturday, 9 July 2016. It has been forever since I wrote last, almost 2 months in fact. I am sorry. I swear I am living in another world at the moment. Since I last blogged, all 3 of my babies had a birthday – plus parties, our renovations have been in full swing and to top it off hubby had a pretty nasty accident. He is very lucky. In our. Where he underwent 5 hours of brain surgery and ear reconstruction. Thankfully he is recovering nicely, although he is no longer allowed to DIY much! I love to experi...
