Tuesday, April 30, 2013. We have been looking at various artists from children's books this past few weeks. This week we enjoyed some time with Eric Carl, Leo Leoni and Lois Ehlert. While they are different, they are pretty similar. It was great to pull out books and really take a look and compare the styles, uses of materials and design. Monday, September 9, 2013. The first week of school here was fantastic! Both kids worked really hard this week, explored a ton, enjoyed many hours of more free flowing learning and had fun! An excellent week that he loved with full rich days of learning and playing. he could not get enough of! Holly also enjoyed an amazing week of third grade! September 9, 2013 at 12:11 PM. Monday, July 9, 2012. Last week we met up with some homeschooling friends and enjoyed a wonderful morning at the beach. We have not been to this beach in about a year, but it is such a lovely little beach. When we head to Anderson Island I think we will take more time to stop here and play. Friday, September 6, 2013. We kicked off our new school year this week. Our home is now enjoying a third grader and a preschooler. Both kiddos are very busy, loving their lessons and growing up all to quickly! We have some fun projects planned for the year, outings and field trips, extra curricular activities, experiments and challenges for the year ahead. we are all excited! First day of school. We had such a nice time, enjoyed our friends, the beautiful scenery and enjoyed getting away. One walk was to an alpine lake called Hidden Lake, just above Lake Wenatchee. The walk was just under a mile, perfect for kids. The lake was beautiful! We stayed at a hotel in town next to the hotel we stayed in the first year we visited for the lighting festival. They went Saturday morning to the pumpkin patch together to pick out a couple of good carving pumpkins. They chose one for me too. however, I have not had time to carve it. We try to get there earlier in the day while it is cool as shade is not overly common. It is great to see the salmon returning, learn a bit about the salmon hatchery and how they operate and enjoy the small nature trail. The kids really enjoyed it! Fun with friends. childhood memories. This past weekend we enjoyed our annual trip with friends to Silver Springs camp ground - a fun way to kind of kick off the camping season! The weather was some what cooperative, a few showers on Saturday but not too horrible. The kids all seemed to care less and kept on playing.
